ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP INSTRUCTIONS

for graduating High School Seniors from Collin or Denton Counties
Thank you for your interest in the OU Club of Collin County academic scholarship.

For your application to be considered, you must meet the following criteria:
☐ You must plan on attending OU.
☐ You must be a resident of Collin or Denton county.
☐ You must be planning to attend OU fall of 2016.

Each year scholarships are awarded to deserving high school seniors that are bound for OU from the area
(Collin or Denton Counties). The OU Club awards this scholarship based on the student’s academic
performance, extracurricular activities, leadership activities, articulation of goals and plans, as well as financial
need.

This scholarship is awarded through the OU Foundation Funds (OU Alumni Clubs) and is paid directly into the
student’s bursar account. If scholarship funds remain after the bursar’s account has been paid in full, the
Office of the Bursar processes a check directly to the student. Funding is disbursed into the student’s Bursar
account the first week of school.

To apply for this year’s scholarship:

1. Fill out the attached application form completely. Your answers must be typed.

2. Include your certified or official high school transcript. If you have attended more than one high
school (10-12th grades), please provide certified or official transcripts from ALL high schools attended.

3. Include 2 letters of recommendation. Each recommendation is to be confidential; thus the writer

must submit the recommendation in a sealed envelope (so that the student does NOT have
access to read it). The student may forward the sealed envelope(s) to the Club with their
application, or the writer may mail it to the Club’s address below.
 one must be from a teacher
 one must be from a teacher or sponsor of an extracurricular activity

4. Send all paperwork to

OU Club of Collin County
P.O. Box 724
Allen, TX 75013

5. Applications must be received by April 1, 2017.

6. Interviews for top candidates will be held April 30, 2017. If selected, you will be required to
attend to be eligible to receive the scholarship.
Thanks and Boomer Sooner!
