EET112 Fluid Power Presentation, 28 May

------------------------------------------------------------------------
** The Assignment **

After selecting a topic, you will have two weeks to prepare a 3 minute
presentation to the class.

The goal of this project is for the student to do research and become an
expert in a subject, then share what you have learned with the rest of
us.

The key to this project is to research the subject and then 'boil it
down' and decide what the rest of need to know about the subject. For
example, include 'rules of thumb', technical names and common names.

Handout. You will be expected to prepare a 2-page (both sides of a

single sheet) handout, to be kept by the rest of us as a 'cheat sheet'
of what we need to know. If you want me to print it, send this document
to me by Tuesday 27 May, or bring 50 copies of the handout with you.

Handout format. The handout needs to include your name and the date and
'where to find out more', which will be the references that were the
most valuable to you.

Pictures may accompany your presentation (bring them as .jpg or .pdf

files on a thumb drive), but three minutes is not enough time to read a
PowerPoint presentation. You may use notes, objects, websites, but
practice and streamline your presentation to get it across in 3 minutes.

Questions. A good presentation would be expected to raise questions in

the audience and you may address those if you wish. The Q&A time will be
in addition to your 3 minutes.

Teams. You may team up with one other person, in which case the
presentation can be 5 minutes long, but it will be expected to be
outstanding!

We will discuss details of the project as the time gets closer to make
your choice of subject.

This project is worth 20% of your class grade.
