INTRODUCTION

Manufacturing

The process of converting raw material component raw or part into finished goods that

meet a customer expectation or specification. Manufacturing commonly employs a man

machine set up with division of labour in a large scale production hence; manufacturing

can either affect technology positively or negatively in the environment .

The positive effect of manufacturing

i. New product helps to make our life easier and increase leisure time through

manufacturing we are able to do things easier and faster. Example gone at the days’

people use their hands to do many things like sewing, weaving and so on but now people

can use in hour to do things instead of days.

ii. Manufacturing also support our economy. The type of support includes protection from

foreign competition in the domestic market, incentives to export and the extension of

various from of concessional finance understanding the channel. Through which

manufacturing growth has an impact on economy wide growth and employment in

particular, is essential for considering how manufacturing can mobile higher growth and

employment creation is the economic sectors.

iii. Another effect of manufacture is help in mass production: mass production is the

manufacture of large quantities of standard product, frequently utilizing assemble line

technology. Goods have been produce to consumers in a right channel through

manufacturing.
iv. Manufacturing is a source of employment people get job in the manufacturing sectors

success has been measured in the number jobs created.

v. Manufacturing also help companies to configure the optimum work flow during the

layout stage which enable the companies in enhancing the productivity and overall output

of the company.

The negative effect of manufacturing

i. Many manufacturing industries like materials that can harm the environment as well

as it habitant through the use of certain machine some animals have extinct because

of noise pollution people have been migrated to their place because of factories

disturbances.

ii. Global warming: before the industrial revolution the greenhouse effect was a natural

process in which gases like carbon dioxides and water vapor trap some of the sun heat

with in the atmosphere allowing life to exist on earth, human cause pollution from

factories, fossil fuel combustion too greenhouse effect and global warming

iii. The replace more job than create many machine replace several manual labors and

only need one operator of technician in the work area which adversely lead to

unemployment, redundancy and employment to some people especial people who do

not engage in formal training

iv. Safety risk: using technology in manufacturing can introduce new and dangerous

workplace hazards and physical safety risks not only the work but employee’s

financial security.

v. Manufacturing also leads to environmental pollution. Difference types of machines

operate using motor which require gases or chemical in order to operate this can
 cause an increase in pollution in the workplace.

A. Construction

The construction activity is one of the main elements that considerably disturb the

environment. Construction basically refer to constructing was building, residential

areas are offices shopping mall, restaurant and much more. It has both positive and

negative ways.

The Positive effect of constructing

i. Social improvement: construction of new social communities gives isolated space for

the gatherings. This space allows people to connect share their view and enjoy on

occasional event as well.

ii. No need to go formal: in construction you don’t have to actually dress up as

professional like officers. You can wear what you want and do your job comfortable

iii. Brings tourism: new construction new building amazing offices our national heritage

is all part of construction. Constructing new building attracts tourism in the country

and help in economic growth of the country.

iv. It also creates employment opportunity to the youth in the country people who are

unemployed can get them self in to it.

v. It also provides shelter and roads infrastructure every man need a place to confined

him/herself for privacy purposes.

 The Negative effect of construction

i. Destruction of natural resources: some of the resources that could be affected are

vegetation, fish wildlife and their habitats vegetation and top soil would be

removed for the development construction project which including associated

access roads transmission lines pipelines and other ancillary facilities.

ii. Some hazardous material can be release during construction activities hazardous

material include compressed gases used for welding, cutting, brazing etc. these

materials would be transported off site disposed in to the environment.

iii. Noise and debris traffic problem which lead to accidents and injuries during

construction of roads.

iv. Construction is a dangerous job and workers’ life. Is always at state is not like

other job for example’ electronics and electrical which assume life safety

v. Constructional adversely affect climate changes: the biggest way in which

construction firm are doing this is by contributing to carbon dioxide emission

carbon dioxide is a gaseous product of by burning fossil/fuel like gas and diesel.

This gas greenhouse effect that warms the earth.

B. Transportation

The effect of transportation on the environment is one of the major issues all over the

world which effect direct and indirect on the nature environment and human life. Some of

the positive effects are easier, faster and sometimes cheaper new people can travel from
 long distance faster than those days. Which can help them of save their time and energy

and even their resource as well?

The positive effect of transportation

i. There are many option of how you can travel from one place to one another depend

on the economy status of an individual traveller people who can afford that means.

ii. Through transportation local project tend to have positive effects on property prices.

Although effect depend on distance to the project and the can vary over time.

iii. Transportation as also one of major component of our economy. The transportation

sector moves goods and people employs millions of workers which generate revenue

and consumer materials and services produce by other sector of the economy.

iv. Transportation also benefits those people who are not using it because it helps reduce

energy consumption, greenhouse gases and others.

v. Transportation can also lead to high productivity of goods and services. People can

travel one place to the other they are able to by raw materials, for final production,

without transportation I don’t think producers will be able to produce goods for

consumption.

The negative effect of transportation

i. Transportation infrastructural requirement like parking places, roadways, airport etc

need space for which our trees on a large scale, shrink our agriculture filed and cover

our water bodies.

ii. Transport allows urban expansion which consumes valuable agricultural land,

because some of our fertile land has been used for road construction such as

highways, federal road etc.

iii. Transportation produces solid waste in bulk through maintenance of old part or when

vehicles become old. Beside regular change of oil also leads to soil pollution.

iv. Transportation leads to loss of habitats and deforestation. When roads and highways

are constructed through forest, a lot of natural settings are destroyed. These activities

lead to loss of several species of animals’ every time roads are being constructed for

the purpose of transportation.

v. Burning of fossil fuel to power present transportation systems cause serious

pollination in the environment. On the visual level the pollution nothing to compare

to underline levels. The greenhouse effects combine with rise in pollution is

increasing the speed of the dreaded global warming.

C. Communication

The act or process of using word sound. Sign or behavior to express or exchange

information or to express your ideas thought Feeling etc to another. Some of the positive

and negative effect of communication in our social life today.

The positive effects of Communication

i. Communication helps us to connect to each day in and out. It also made long distance

and mass communication easier and convenient.

ii. Communication help us to release information to many different people at once, without

calling a meeting or requiring printing of the materials turned is to a money and time

saving device

iii. Overcoming disabilities: technology has both improved communication for disabled

people and made it possible where of previously wasn’t. hearing aids boost the hearing of

partially deaf people making it easier to understanding speech

iv. CAD programs use a computer to generate more accurate drawing in a short period of

time.

v. Communication also promotes cultural exchange and conflict resolution. Communication

allows people to express themselves leading to social and psychological.

The Negative effect of communication

i. The adverse effect a communication is workplace conflict when one employee

spreads false rumor about another staff member, the result can often be a verbal or

physical interacting between them

ii. Depending: societies depend on computer for communication and is also dangerous

game as outsides forces can ways, earthquake floods and stoppages of internet

connectivity for people all over the world

iii. It also has impact on children the minds of children are like blank page. Their

elevated cleverness allows them to fill those pages very fast with the provided

information. Such information can be extracted not only from book and other

educational material but also from games, TV show and texting.

iv. Declining writing skill: due to excessive usage of online chatting and shortcuts the

writing skill of today’s young generation has declined quite tremendously. These days

children are relying more and more on digital communication that they have totally

forget about improving their writing skill

v. Misinterpretation: the fact that most communication taking places on computers

comes in the form of text can actually be a negative in terms of our ability of

understand things clearly even with online chat it is possible for information to be

mix constructed on the emotion of a statement to be missed.

D. Bio-related

Bio-related can be described as the controlled manipulation of biological system

including living cells or cellular component for the processing or manufacturing of

various product useful to human. Bio related activity has positive effects as well

negative effects.

i. with the help of bio related active we have been able to produce better tasting

fruit as well as vegetable for consumption.

ii. It also gaveas several diagnostic kites which make it easier for human being to

detect pest infestation in plants and animals.

iii. It help plants to become more resistant to viruses and other communicable

pest

iv. Highly reliable consistent and rapid enzymes have been created with the help

of bio related activities. These enzymes play major role in food processing as

well as prevention.

v. Bio related has modified plant to have their own pest resistant traits which

makes the use of harmful pesticides and insecticide less common on farms.

The Negative effect of Bio-Related

i. Not all culture embraces the use of vaccine so disease spread faster.

Though bio related activities help us to produce certain vaccine for

 securing of disease some culture and religious believer does not take those

vaccines.

ii. Bio related activities also poses a number of environmental threats

genetically modified crops often infect monarch butteries and other insect

species

iii. It very expensive in term of gene transportation: the cost of producing

genetically modified plants and animal and the duration of return of also

iv. Genetic engineering crosses boundaries of reproduction of crossing gene

of species that are completely related hence giving rise to hazardous result

as well as increasing the risk a harming multiple species

v. Too much use of chemical on the farm lands will adversely affected the

crops and the microorganism. The natural taste differ much farm

genetically modified crop. So, crops cannot give it naturals taste to

because of chemicals addiction.

CONCLUSION

These activities of technology are a major field of study due to its significant impact on the

society in general as well as various sub-unit that makes up of the society. The above activities

examine both the positive and the adverse effect of technology in the society.
