dresser he hired to groom his hair.
He is to appear before the St Andrew Parish
Court on Monday.
Reports from the police Corporate Commu-
nications Unit (CCU) are that on Saturday, April
28 about 11:20 am, Bailey allegedly hired a fe-
male hairdresser to groom his hair at a hotel in
New Kingston area and while at the hotel it's re-
ported that he forcibly had sexual intercourse

The truth about motherhood!
M otherhood is the opportunity a
woman receives from God to have or
raise a child. It is an opportunity and a priv-
ilege for that a woman to get to partake in
the partnership with God to help in the de-
velopment of an individual.
A woman that gets to participate in the
developmental stage of a child should do
her very best in this process. As the old
proverbs saying goes, “the hand that rocks
the cradle rules the world.” This means the
woman who raises a child determines the
character of that child, and so influences the
type of society that next generation will cre-
ate. I think this is a big deal!
Of course, with every opportunity, there
is always a challenge because, with a re-
sponsibility like this, a woman would need
all the help that she can get. However, most
times some women have to do this process
alone. In which, creates a strain on her, on
the family, on the schools and eventually on
the society in which that child has to grow
up in.

A ww, it’s good to be back home! So,

gence, and wholeheartedly with lovestruck
eyes, jumped into a situation before instill-
ing some of the golden rules of dating. One
such state is to: never become intimate with
a man until you have both agreed upon the
specific parameters of the relationship.
Your job, at the very beginning of
every relationship, is to ask direct, focused
questions by enquiring about your new
man’s expectations and whether he is ready
for a relationship. Your goal is to discover
your role in his life, as he sees it. ‘What do
you want from me, my brother?’, should be
sewn on as many t-shirts as you can find.

is in front of you. Sure, it’s not all about
what he wants, but by listening keenly to
his answers, you will be able to make a
clear, concise decision on whether you want
to have a continued relationship with this
man: and in what capacity.
Will he then be shifted to the ‘he’s just
a friend’ zone, or will you continue to see
him as a ‘friend with benefits?’: Depending

Pleads Guilty to
Spying on Nanny
WESTCHESTER:
A former CNBC television director
Daniel Switzen, 45 who was arrested in
November for spying on his teenage nanny
with a hidden camera in his Pleasantville
home, has pleaded guilty to Unlawful Sur-
veillance in the 2nd Degree, a class E felony.
Westchester County District Attorney
Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. recently announced
that on Nov. 13, 2017, Switzen placed a se-
cret camera in a bathroom inside his Pleas-
antville home. The camera was hidden
within a tissue box and was discovered by
the victim. Switzen admitted to placing the
camera in the bathroom to capture the victim
and her friends on video.
Switzen is scheduled to be sentenced by
Judge Susan Cacace Aug. 21, 2018, and
faces one-and-a-half to four years in state
prison. He will be required to register as a
sex offender upon his release.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant
District Attorney Joseph Servino of the Sex
Crimes Bureau.
Bronx 'spiritualist' arrested for sexual assault
BRONX
A self-proclaimed spiritual leader in the
Bronx was arrested Tuesday night
after five people claimed they were sexually
assaulted by him.
The alleged victims say Cristian Robles
attacked them after he made them drink an
unknown liquid. One woman claims she
suffered a miscarriage because of his ac-
tions.

Police say his 23-year-old son fled

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad:
T he Trinidad-based Caribbean Public
Health Agency (CARPHA) says while
the mosquito-borne diseases, Chikungunya
and Zika, which swept the region in 2014
and 2016 are not expected back anytime
soon, the region should “gear-up for the pos-
sibility of a major outbreak of dengue fever
in 2018”.
CARPHA said the outbreak is possible
“because as before, the pre-conditions of
abundant mosquito vector levels still exist,
and increased levels of dengue are being re-
ported in Latin America and elsewhere.
“It is imperative as rainy season begins
in many countries that efforts to stop mos-
quitos breeding be stepped up, especially for
pregnant women and vulnerable popula-
tions.”
Dengue is a flu-like illness that affects
infants, young children and adults, but can
be severe and cause death. Symptoms typi-
cally begin four to 10 days after infection.
This may include a high fever, headache,
vomiting, muscle and joint pains, and a
characteristic skin rash. This illness can
evolve into severe dengue, characterised by
potentially deadly complication due to in-
tense and continuous abdominal pain or ten-
derness and persistent vomiting.

Suit challenges blanket
bans on wheelchair users
New York, NY:
M obilization for Justice (formerly
MFY Legal Services) and AARP
Foundation filed a lawsuit recently in the
Southern District of New York against New
York State and four adult homes, alleging
discrimination against people who use
wheelchairs. The suit was brought on
behalf of the Fair Housing Justice Center
(FHJC) along with one resident and her
representative who allege she was barred
from returning to her home of five years
after she began using a wheelchair at a re-
habilitation facility.
The lawsuit challenges discrimination
by four adult homes that are licensed by the
State to provide housing and services to
people with disabilities, but in practice
deny people applying to live in the homes
and evict residents already living in the
homes who use wheelchairs. The suit also
alleges that New York State promotes dis-
ability discrimination through its regula-
tions and policies, including its policy
permitting adult homes to ban wheelchair
users from admission.
“Banning residents who use wheel-
chairs to get around their home and their
community is blatant discrimination on the
basis of disability and a violation of federal
law,” said Susan Ann Silverstein, Senior
Attorney at AARP Foundation Litigation.
After receiving complaints of wheel-
chair discrimination from residents, FHJC
conducted testing at the four adult homes
operated by defendants Village Housing
Development Fund, Elm York LLC, Madi-
son York Assisted Living Community LLC,
and Madison York Rego Park LLC.
FHJC’s investigation revealed that the de-
fendant adult homes had blanket policies
barring wheelchair users, regardless of their
individual needs or abilities, and steered
applicants who use wheelchairs to nursing
homes.

services that are available to others. The
State needs to enact and enforce regulations
that promote non-discrimination in adult
care facilities and assisted living programs
so that they fully comply with federal civil
rights mandates.” said Fred Freiberg, Ex-
ecutive Director at FHJC.
All of the defendant adult homes have
elevators and all have assisted living pro-
grams, which are funded to provide a vari-
ety of supports to people with disabilities,
including personal care and home health
services. They receive between approxi-
mately $33,000 and $55,000 annually per
person to provide assisted living services
for each resident enrolled in the program.
Collectively, the defendant adult homes are
licensed to house over seven hundred peo-
ple.

York State shamefully maintains that it is
perfectly fine for adult homes to discrimi-
nate against people who use wheelchairs.”
New York State Department of Health
regulations state that adult homes and as-
sisted living programs should not admit or
retain people who are “chronically chair-
fast.” The regulations were enacted in
1978. This was prior to passage of the fed-
eral Fair Housing Act, the Americans with
Disabilities Act, the Affordable Care Act,
and prior to the Supreme Court’s decision
in Olmstead v. L.C., which made it clear
that unnecessarily relegating people with
disabilities to institutional settings is illegal
discrimination. Yet the State has never up-
dated the regulations to comply with fed-
eral protections against disability
discrimination, despite being informed by
advocates on multiple occasions over the
years that the regulations are unlawful.

T he study of the book of Hebrews is re-

“Jesus wept.” He was lied on, betrayed,
talked about. His own friends did not be-
lieve who he said he was, and so, he had
to constantly prove himself to them. His
family wanted him to stick to carpentry
because they did not fully understand His
call. People were jealous of him, some
knew him from when he was growing up
so they put him in a box about who they
think he is.

sentenced to prison
for role in $5 M
fraud scheme
NEWARK, N.J. - A Fairfield, Connecticut,
man was sentenced recently to 19 months
in prison for his role in a securities scheme
that defrauded investors out of more than
$5 million, U.S. Attorney Carpenito said.
James Trolice, 64, previously pleaded
guilty before U.S. District Judge William
J. Martini to a two-count information
charging him with securities fraud and
transacting in criminal proceeds. Judge
Martini imposed the sentence today in
Newark federal court.
According to documents filed in this
case and statements made in court: Trolice
was the president and owner of Trolice
Consulting Services LLC and the president
and chief marketing officer of eAgency, a
California-based company that developed
mobile security products. Trolice and Lee
Vaccaro, 46, of Las Vegas, sold investors
interests in Trolice Consulting Services
and companies Vaccaro controlled and
falsely represented to investors that those
companies held warrants in eAgency. War-
rants are derivative securities that give the
holder the right to purchase common stock
at a specific price within a certain time
frame.

devastating to me especially since it seems
so sudden. This is all so unexpected and I
don’t know what to make of it. Given all
the time we’ve had together, I’m asking
you to consider setting a mutually agreed
upon timeline for your leaving. Please un-
derstand that I need some time to adjust
(and so do the kids). If you still feel the
same way in x months, I won’t stand in
your way — but I hope we’ll use that time
to try and fix what’s broken.

tell the kids we tried everything to hold our
marriage together. If we don’t at least try
couples therapy, we won’t be able to tell
them that and mean it. We have to show
them that our marriage — and our family
— was worth fighting for.

forgiving me for my (affair, addiction, neg-
lect) and I totally get that. Now, I’m paying
the price for my behaviors and you’re
ready to leave — and it’s killing me.

How to use credit wisely

C redit card debt can spiral out of con-
trol. Here are some ways to protect
yourself from getting in over your head.
Do not use credit cards to finance an
unaffordable lifestyle. If you are con-
stantly using credit cards and are unable
to pay the resulting bill each month, then
consider whether you are using your
cards to make an unreasonable budget
work.
Avoid using credit cards if you’re al-
ready in financial trouble. Finance
charges and other fees will add to your
debt burden. However, using your credit
card in a time of financial difficulty is
better than taking out a home equity loan,
where your home is put on the line.
Don’t get hooked on minimum pay-
ments. Some credit card issuers have set
their minimum payments as low as 2% of
the balance. Others may set it to 4%. If
you pay only the minimum, it will take a
long time to pay off your debt. For ex-
ample, if you owe $5,000.00 on an ac-
count with 18% APR, making 2%
payments will take over 44 years to pay
off. Also, you will have paid $12,431.00
in interest.
Don’t run up the balance in reliance on
a temporary “teaser” interest rate.
Money borrowed during a temporary or
promotional rate is likely to be paid back
at a much higher permanent rate.
Make your credit card payments on
time. Avoid late payment charges and
penalty rates if you can. Bad problems
get worse fast when you have late fees
and higher rates to pay during financial
difficulty. It’s worth calling to ask for a
fee to be waived if you were accidentally
late, or have a good excuse.
Avoid the special services, programs,
and goods that credit card lenders offer to
bill to their cards. Most of these extras –
fraud protection plans, credit record pro-
tection, travel clubs, life insurance, etc –
are often bad deals.
Beware of unsolicited increases to your
credit limit. Don’t assume that this
means that your lender thinks you can af-
ford more credit. Lenders generally in-
crease limits for consumers that they
think will carry a bigger balance and pay
more interest.
Don’t max out your cards. It’s easy to
get hit with over-limit fees. Also, a credit
card account close to its limit will cause
a big drop in your credit score. Be aware
of whether or not your account allows
you to spend over your limit, as this is op-
tional.
