20. Elements that have full valence electron are very stable and
uncreative. But there’s one element which doesn’t have full
valence electron but not very reactive at all. That element is …
a. Oxygen b. Boron c. Nitrogen d. Hydrogen

B. Write your answer clearly!

1. Write the symbols and the name of the first 20 elements in
periodic table. In reverse order (starts from 20 to 1)
2. Draw and label a diagram to show the meaning of the
following terms:
Nucleus Neutron Shell
Proton Valence Electron
Electron Core electron

3. Name all the groups from periodic table and give at least 1
example from each group complete with the atomic number.

4. a. What is isotopes? Give 1 example.

b. What is metalloids? Give 1 example.
c. What is the charge of neutron, roton and electron?

5. Determine the groups and the periods of the following

elements by using electron configurations.
Boron potassium sulphur
Argon calcium silicon
Chlorine nitrogen

6. You can determine the groups and the periods of the

elements by using electron configurations. So far, we only
learned the first 20 elements. Because more than that, will
have to include the group B elements and it’ll affect the total
electrons (core) on the shells. Can you figure it out how to
find the groups and the periods of the elements that have
more than 20 protons? Use Stannum-50 (Sn-50) – group IVA
period 5, and Radon-86 (Rn 86) – group VIIIA period 6 to
find the electron configurations (10 for Sn-50 and 10 for Rn-
86)
