1. What was the purpose of the investigators?

The purpose of the researchers was to know how live the giant sharks that inhabit

the remote island of the Galapagos.

Within their purposes are to know their patterns of migration and subsistence.

The group of researchers wanted to discover evidence of their habits, including

the process by which they mate and where and how they give birth.

2. Why did the researchers say that Giant Sharks were sea dinosaurs?

They thought this because of its large size and its existence going back roughly to

the age of the dinosaur. It is considered an almost prehistoric species that has

inhabited the seas for a long time.

5. Who is Jonathan Green and why is he interested in the whale shark?

Jonathan Green is an important naturalist and photographer who explores the

Galapagos Islands studying the life of whale sharks. He is very interested in these

sharks because of its history and provenance.

6. Where did the whale sharks use to live?

They lived in the Galapagos Islands near Ecuador in the Pacific Ocean.

7. Which is the strategy the divers use to find a whale shark?

To find the whale shark the researchers located the schools where the whale

shark

8. What kind of difficulties did inform Jonathan (the researcher) to his

partner in the University of California?

One of the difficulties reported by Johnathan green is the strong tides that occur

where whale sharks are located which makes it impossible to record and track

sharks

One of the most obvious dangers to which this group of researchers are exposed

are other species of sharks that are aggressive and can attack them such as bull

shark and white shark

They use satellite trawlers which allow them to know the displacement of whale

sharks, determining distances, places where they feed, and reproduce.

He thinks this through what he has seen and investigated through the years of this

species of giant shark. This species goes back its origins to the times of the

prehistory where the dinosaurs reigned.
