Post-report Observation

Introspecting the current report that we have

1. State the constraints or challenges encountered during the formulation and presentation
stage

The group presentation on Productivity and Quality is somehow easy for us to draft
because two of us from the group specializes in the operations. We have had a good
discussion on how we can make the report interactive and good for our classmates, but
we still have encountered several challenges and constraints while doing it. These
several challenges and constraints during the formulation and presentation of our report
are:

During formulation of Report

• Lacked time for report preparation (only met once)

• Members had divided attention and could not focus on our report
• Members were unprepared for discussion making the meeting too long
• Meeting area was not good because it closes early, and we cannot talk or
collaborate much about the report.

During presentation

• Audio presentation is not working properly due to technical difficulties

2. How did you distribute the task?

The report preparation and presentation were somehow had a smooth outcome
because we can easily agree on some idea being brought up during discussion. We
started with having me who will create the power presentation. We then agreed to set-
up a meeting place for discussion on what to add or who should be saying what. On the
meeting, we immediately do edits on our presentation to be efficient. On the
presentation, we just did what we are assigned and discussed it to the class. Basically,
how we distribute the task for our report is:

• We gave each member of the team an equal amount of work.

• Considered the skillset of members who will be doing or discussing the
material.
• Allowed each member a reasonable amount of time to complete their task.

3. How did you resolve the challenges, constraints, or issue encountered?

Challenges and constraints are inevitable in every teams. Members should just be
prepared and ready for it to be tackled. In our case we deemed it important to just talk
and discussed every scenario/situation carefully, we need to innovate if we have to. As
such, the following are in summary of the things we have did to resolve the challenges,
constraints, or issues we have encountered:

• Set out expectations and goals in the meeting agenda for us to work towards.
• We decided to be prepared to walk away if one’s discussions/idea is not
what the majority wanted.
• Asked members to have something in mind when they disagree to an idea.
• Allocated a timekeeper to watch the clock during the meeting and ensure
we sticks to schedule, moving things on when necessary.
• Placed topics that required more discussion at the beginning of the agenda.

4. What was the impact of these experiences to the quality of your output?

Assessing the output of our presentation, I think we did a good thing, but it is not
the best. I think we have discussed the key points and knowledge behind our topic
Productivity and Quality. But I also think that we could still have improved it. We lack
industry practices and application on our topic. We also not able to highlight some
companies or industry who does good management on their Productivity and Quality.
In line with this, I have added slide #23 – #24, and #79 – #83 which now highlights
industries best practices on productivity and quality.
5. What do you think is the appropriate rating for each individual member of the team and
why?

The appropriate rating for my groupmates would be: Romeo Batestil – 1.0 and
Denice Piloton – 1.75. The basis of my grading is how they are able to carry out the
tasks given to them, overall contribution to the report formulation and presentation, and
eagerness towards the report. All throughout the formulation and presentation it was
Romeo Batestil who showed significant contribution towards the formulation of our
report. Although he was too busy with his current job, he still has the time to collaborate
and make our presentation to work and become better. On the presentation, he was very
eager to have an interactive game for our classmate to easily understand the dynamics
of our topic. On the other hand, Denice Piloton was not that collaborative and eager
during the formulation of our report. She cam unprepared and not ready to discuss. She
was not able to contribute in making our presentation better. On the day of presentation,
she was unprepared and looks like she did not review or study her part.
