During

the past sixteen weeks, I supervised and worked with Gianna

during her student teaching experience in kindergarten. I observed her
approximately once a week, and she communicated with me in weekly,
reflective summaries so that I was well informed about all that was
happening during this time.
Gianna has been a true pleasure to work with. She has displayed many
fine qualities that make her an excellent teacher. She has a positive, caring
demeanor and a natural ability with children. Her strong motivational skills
and loving nature made her a perfect fit for a kindergarten classroom.
Gianna’s organizational skills, creativity, and enthusiasm made this a
successful semester for her.
Through continuous self-assessment, Gianna grew so much during
this experience. She was thoughtful with her reflections and sought feedback
and suggestions for improvement daily. Gianna worked well with her
cooperating teacher, as well as the entire kindergarten team at Peifer
Elementary. She contributed ideas and suggestions for planning, classroom
management, and student accountability.
Gianna made each student feel valued. She had a clear idea of each
child’s strengths and interests. Gianna also made an effort to communicate
regularly with parents. She sent home positive notes with two different
students each day during her time at Peifer. It was obvious that she knew the
importance of establishing a strong relationship with parents/guardians to
ensure success for the child.
Gianna was conscience to include all students in lessons and ensured
that each one felt they had something important to contribute. Gianna made
an effort during each lesson to encourage participation, critical thinking, and
enthusiasm for learning. Her rapport with the kindergartners in her
classroom was impressive. It was clear that they valued and respected her as
a teacher. She left this semester with a true relationship established with each
student.
Gianna’s strong organizational skills helped to make her planning
successful. She was careful to set appropriate goals and objectives for the
students. Each lesson planned was developmentally appropriate and was
presented in a clear manner. This ensured that each student had the
opportunity to succeed, which was her ultimate goal. Gianna planned
creative lessons. She spent a great deal of time developing lessons that were
engaging, motivating, and educational for all students.
Gianna is a highly effective teacher and will be a wonderful asset to
whatever school she works with. She is a confident and caring leader that is a
great role model to the children she works with. Gianna is professional and
works well with parents and colleagues. I highly recommend her for any
teaching position she desires.
