What We Did, What’s Coming Up:
Language Arts:
Next week will be our last week of reading homework bags. Students are expected to still be reading 10 minutes (but no more unless they
want to).

PALS assessments have ended.

**Please be on the lookout for the little readers that have been sent home over the past couple of months. There are several books
missing which then makes sets incomplete.

Math:
We have been working on identifying and trading coin money (penny, nickel, dime, and quarter). We were introduced to another unit of
measurement: weight. We used a balance pan to compare weights of different classrooms items and measured their individual weight
with cubes. Next week we will continue to work with money and weight. We will be using ST Math on Mondays and Thursdays.

SNAP assessments have ended.

Science:
During our content block, we have been creating maps of our school. Each group recreated a room in our building to help build a giant
map of our school. We also started investigating with plants. We talked about their needs to survive: water, sunlight, nutrients in soil, and
space. We talked about the parts of a plant (stem, leaves, petals, seeds, and roots) and their importance to the plant. We will plant some
seeds next week and give them everything they need to survive the remaining weeks of school! We will also begin talking about needs
and wants. Our basic needs are water, food, shelter, air, and clothes.
