perspective. One aspect connected to our social problems that concerned sociologist for the past
decades is related to child abuse. The most important question related to this public issue is
what impact does child abuse have on developing a criminal behavior as an adult later in life.
Criminal behavior is considered any type of actions that might harm another human physically,
emotionally, mentally or any action that is punished by state, law or a supreme spiritual being.

This phenomenon called child abuse has been researched and defined in various ways. Child
abuse is explained as being any type of actions made by a parent, tutor or caregiver that might
harm significantly a child. Moreover, child maltreatment is composed of numerous types and Commented [B2]: You need to use references to justify

parental alcoholism and/or drug addiction, domestic abuse, online abuse, child sexual
exploitation, female genital mutilation, bullying and cyberbullying, child trafficking, grooming,
and harmful sexual behavior. All these types and forms have one common aspect: the long-term
impacts of child abuse. Psychologist Dave A. Wolfe suggests that child abuse is increasing day Commented [B3]: Reference?
by day. Globally, every ten seconds a report of child abuse is made. Sociologically, this question
presents a massive importance within society because just like Nelson Mandela said our future
is represented by children. Any type of maltreatment and violence is leading to a violent
response which is making violence and criminal behavior increasing. Long-term effects on
children are dangerous for a normal developing of the children and for the adult that will
become for society. According to John N. Briere, after a child abuse occurs, victims can suffer
from posttraumatic effects, cognitive distortions, altered emotionality, dissociation, intimacy
disturbance, altered sexuality, aggression, smoking, drug using, suicidality and much more. A
wide variety of effects can be treated but are effects that effect permanently the victim's life.

Regarding child abuse, crime and violence we can assume that what comes around, goes
around. All these concepts are part of criminality circle. Every victim is affected and represents a
high risk of committing immorality or crime.
