A test that described measures the compressive strength of rocks by using

rebound hammer. The main purpose of this Engineering Testing-Rebound Hardness

Test is to determine the uniaxial compressive strength of rock indirectly and quickly,
both in the field and in the laboratory .The purpose of this experiment is to access
the compressive strength offered by various type of the rock .

The rebound of an elastic mass depends on the hardness of the surface against
which its mass strikes. This means that the harder the rock, the more force needed
for user to apply against the rock. when plunger of the rebound hammer was applied
into the surface of the rock by pushing it , The rebound value ( rebound number or
rebound index ) will appear on the graduated scale screen that was directly easily
been read by the user .In the end of this experiment ,it will shown the relationship
between compressive strength of the rock and the hardness surface of rock.
