DDC-SVC-MAN-0084 Temperature Sensor
The oil level/temperature sensor is mounted in the oil pan on the left side of the engine. The motor control module (MCM-
MCM2-MCM2.1) determines the oil level and temperature by sending a current of voltage to the sensor and measuring the
returned amount of voltage to provide the oil quantity and temperature present in the oil pan.
Remove as follows:
1. Disconnect the three-pin connector on the oil level/temperature sensor (1).
2. Remove the oil level/temperature sensor (1) from the oil pan (3). Discard the seal ring (2).
Install as follows:
1. Install the oil level/temperature sensor with a new seal ring in the oil pan.
a. On an aluminum oil pan, use a copper crush-style seal ring. Torque sensor to 60 N·m (44 lb·ft).
b. On a plastic oil pan, use a rubber seal ring. Torque to 10 N·m (7 lb·ft).
2. Connect the three-pin connector to the oil level/temperature sensor.
