I. first upload a picture to fb, and download it back again.

II. now take various kinds of inputs -

1. a small string like a name
2. a larger peice of data data around 10 lines
3. a complete document
4. redundant, repeated data - repeat the same 10 lines or something

III. test them on all the available steganography tools and save the screen shot
s of the retrieved data.
IV. analyse these and come up with a reason why our tool that we plan to design
would work.
Tools -
Revelation 1.0 - does does not support jpeg file format. FB changes any format y
ou upload the picture in to JPEG format. already tested this.
Invisible read, Invisible secrets - not free.so can't be tested till now. try to
find demo version.

STEGO TOOLS TESTED-

HIT MAIL PRIVACY - Supports only BMP, only 250 characters at a time can be fitte
d in. uses passwords to convert files. Failed completely in case of FB's convers
ion of bmp to JPEG.
DIGITAL INVISIBLE INK TOOLKIT - very very nice interface. loads of options avail
able. if we design our own system, this is the framework we should probably foll
ow. however, it is outputting files only in PNG format, which will not be compat
ible with FB's JPEG love. encrypts file by passwords, and also has the ability t
o pick up complete files for encryption, as well as small strings.also writes to
a file. gives the option of many algorithms to choose from to encrypt the file
in, like battlesteg etc... IT FAILS DUE TO PNG PANGA PIMARILY....good software o
therwise. says it cannot find strings at all... :( :(
