This is the solar system on how we know it in
2016.
When somebody asks you about the locations
of the sun and the Earth you would probably
say something like the sun is in the center of
our solar system and the Earth revolves around
the sun, but did you know that before the
1500s, people thought that the sun revolved
around the Earth and that our planet was in the
place that we now know the sun is? They had
reasoning that the Earth was in the center that
basically was full of people saying that since we
don’t see the Earth moving and we only see the
sun move around the sky that must mean we
are in the center of our solar system, right? We
know that this was incorrect but who figured out
that we weren’t in the center of the solar
system. This man is named Nicolaus
Copernicus. He had a theory that we were in a
heliocentric solar system which we soon
learned to be correct. Can you imagine if at this
day of 2016 we tried sending out a spaceship
towards somewhere that we thought was a
planet but ended up being the sun and
everyone died. Tragic right! Let's just take a
moment of silence to praise Copernicus for his
fantastic findings.

Yes… The sun is located in the middle of
space… It is located in the milky way
galaxy…

3. What year did Copernicus theory go out
to the public?
The his theory went out to the public in the
1500s but I don’t know the exact year…
4. What is NASA?
Nasa is an organization that sends
astronauts to outer space and allows
people to go to space and go on planets
and study the planets and other things to
allow people to experience space like
things.
This shows the rings that the planets revolve
around and the shapes and colors of the
planets.
Hey you! Did you know that in the 2020s
NASA is going to send people to an asteroids!
Can you believe an untrained astronaut is
going to be able to look at all the planets from
a asteroid! Pretty cool! “NASA is developing
the capabilities needed to send humans to an
asteroid by 2025,” (​NASA​).
