ATTITUDE OF COLLEGE TEACHERS TOWARDS
CREATIVITY

According to Torrance [1962] “Creative thinking is the process of sensing gaps or


distributing, missing elements, forming ideas or hypothesis and testing these hypotheses”.

Torrance [1996] redefined creativity as “A process becoming sensitive to problems,


deficiencies gaps in knowledge, missing elements, disharmonies and so on, identifying the
difficulty searching for solutions asking guesses or formulating hypotheses and possibly
modifying and retesting them and finally communicating the results.

Education:-
Education and life are inseparable and conterminous. Education begins with birth and
continues as long as life lasts, from the cradle to the grave. Sometimes education starts even
before birth and continues after life has ended, but education depends on our conception of what
life is.

Education has a wide connotation and it is very difficult to give its precise definition.
Various persons had gave different definitions of education but each definition stresses of a
particular aspects of Educational process. Education begins with wonder, a thrill of the
mysterious, when mind encounter some strong phenomenon.

Creativity:-
The need for more and better creative thinking and production were felt before middle of
century, but it was not until after scientific research and technological development really got off
ground. It comprises of a positive science of learning and creative Art of teaching. But in most
of the formal teaching learning situations the essential aspects, creativity in neglected.
Creativity is the ability or capacity of an individual to create, discover or produce a new
idea or object including the re-arrangement or reshaping of what is already known to him.

Creativity is essentially a function of whole personality that permits one to view and
understand whether he may be considered in such a way that it can assume new and unexpected
form and meaning. A man becomes creative when he finds a new unity in the variety of nature.

Findings:-
The findings of the study and the conclusions based on the interpretations of the
statistical analysis of the data and to give suggestions for developing positive ideas and opinions
towards creativity among college teachers is the ultimate end of the research.

Conclusion:-
The purpose of scientific research is to derive verified and verifiable generalizations. An
educational research worker has to exercise all care and caution in formulating the conclusions
and they should be prevented in somewhat more in detail and care should be taken to draw
conclusions directly from the findings.

Presentations of conclusion forms the heart of any research report skillful grouping and
appropriate sub-ordination of conclusions under major heading are essential in avoiding
unnecessary enumeration of innumerable individual statements.

The specific purpose of the present study is to make “Attitude of high College Teachers
towards creativity”.

It is found that there is no significant difference between teachers working in different


locality, management, sex-wise, qualification, teaching subject and experience, age wise,
qualification, professional qualification, marital status, total salary per month, if married no. of
children, spouse, and total no. of persons in the family, caste and religion.
