Technical Specifications for SS Pipe Fittings and Flange assembly
1. Scope:
This specification covers the technical requirements for the supply, inspection, testing
and delivery of
a. Forged SS 304 L 90 degree LR Elbows, Concentric Reducers, Eccentric
Reducers,Equal Tees, Reducing Tees & with butt welded ends conforming to
ASTM – A – 182 / A182M ANSI B.16.9
b. SS 304 L SORF Flanges and Blind Flanges of class 150 #, conforming to ASTM A
182, Grade F 304 L and dimensions conforming to ASME B 16.5. The required SS
bolts, nuts, washers and 3 mm graphite gaskets shall also be supplied along with the
flanges.

2. Testing:
a. The pipe fittings & flanges shall be offered for inspection prior to the dispatch at
the supplier’s premises.
b. Material Test Certificates from NABL Accredited Labs(National
Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories) for Chemical
composition and Mechanical Properties conforming to ASTM A TYPE 304L and
dimensional inspection reports shall be produced for verification during inspection.
c. Wherever Traceability(Heat no) not matched with the test certificates, separate
tests for chemical composition and mechanical tests to be carried out and testing
charges are under supplier’s scope.

3. Marking & Packing:

a. Each pipe fittings & flanges shall be marked for size, relevant standard, grade, Heat
No, manufacturer’s logo, etc. Marking ink shall not contain zinc, copper, lead, etc.
b. Each pipe fittings & flanges with suitable end caps shall be properly packed in
polythene sheets/packets before final dispatch.

4. General Instructions:
a. Manufacturer name of each item should be clearly specified in the price bid and
should supply the same make.
b. Bidder should quote as per the specification, standard, size and no deviation is
permitted
c. All the taxes, duties, packing, forwarding, transportation, safe delivery shall be
clearly mentioned in the offer
d. All the items shall be new & free from bend, warp, twist, cracks, pitting,
laminations, surface defects and other harmful defects.

Note: Pre-despatch inspection is must before dispatching the materials from the supplier’s
premises.
