Visitors and Spectators Policy

Objective

At Emali we have the responsibility to keep all children and staff safe while under Emali care.
We take this responsibility seriously and when visitors or spectators come to our center to
observe, visit or to complete maintenance. We have put this policy into place, to keep all
children and educators safe while under Emali’s care.

EYLF (The early years learning framework)


The Early years framework (EYLF), carries the highest expectations for all children’s learning
from birth to five years and through the transitions to school. It connects these expectations
through five learning outcomes. By having volunteers at Emali we are providing many links to
the EYLF learning outcomes.

Implementation
Emali staff are to make sure all visitors and spectators including, volunteers, maintenance
workers, people on placement, people going on tours, of the centre and any other individual
that visit the centre, sign in and out of the center in the visitor’s book, with their full name,
reason for visit and company name (if applicable).
Staff are to be present around the children at all times, while the visitor/spectators are at the
centre.
Inappropriate behavior or interactions displayed by a visitor/spectator while at the centre will
be asked to leave, and the appropriate authority’s contacted.

The following people do not require a DCSI child-related employment screening.

 Parent or carer volunteering only if their own child is involved in the volunteer
activity. (otherwise a DCSI is needed).
 Person under the age of 18.
 Secondary students for workplace experience or a school-based apprenticeship.
 Guests.
 Visitors.
 Presenter.

All other people coming into the centre will require a DCSI child-related employment
screening.
