Make sure that the parking brake has been applied and that neutral gear is selected.

Remove the lower footstep next to the steering gear

Place a suitable container under the steering gear.
Remove the lower pipe connection.

Note: Mark the positions of the pipes.

Remove the link rod crown nuts from the Pitman arm and remove the link rods with puller 9996201.

Special tools: 9996201

Remove the bracket.
Remove the air hoses from the steering gear fixture.

Mark the positions of the connectors on the steering gear, 3 connectors on the control valve block and one on the flow
indicator.
Remove the connectors from the steering gear and flow indicator.

Mark up the hydraulic pipe between the steering gear and the chassis feed-through.
Remove the pipe between the steering gear and the chassis feed-through.
Remove the flow indicator with pipe.
Mark up the hydraulic pipe's connections to the steering gear control valve block.
Remove the hydraulic pipe's connections from the steering gear control valve block.

Remove the locking screw holding the steering universal joint to the steering spindle. Remove the steering universal
joint from the steering spindle. If necessary, use lever 9992337.

Install the fixture in the lower cover screw holes.

Put the fixture in the lifting pad hole on the jack.
Remove the steering gear.

Lower the jack and lift the steering gear off.
