Dear Admissions Office,

I am writing you today in order demonstrate my qualifications for joining your institution.

Currently, I am attending Heritage High School in Wake Forest, North Carolina as a junior and

will graduate in 2019. As of now, I have a 4.0 unweighted GPA even after taking 9 AP classes.

This has earned me a place as a junior marshall, the top 15 students with the highest GPA in the

junior class. This accolade demonstrates my strong work ethic and drive to succeed in

educational pursuits.

In addition to my ability to excel in the classroom, I also seek out constructive extra curricular

activities that bolster my experience as a student outside of school based opportunities. In 2017, I

met with a materials science and engineering professor at North Carolina State University and sat

in on a meeting with graduate students presenting their research projects. After that meeting, I

was inspired to continue to meet with these students, and for several weeks, I helped with their

research. This entailed polishing and labelling metal samples that were vital to the

experimentation process. This experience reveals my motivated attitude towards finding

opportunities that will both expand my understanding of complex topics and add to my ability to

communicate with college professors.

I would like to thank you for you time in reading this letter, and I hope that my intellectual and

service based pursuits have displayed significant motivation. In the future, I would appreciate

your consideration during the college application process.
