Understanding GLO's
In our series in aiding the understanding of GLO's, we
have printed GLO #5 on the back of our bulletin. There
will be 1 more leading up to the awards ceremony on
May 31. Have a conversation with your child, GLO's
are part of the goals in your child's education through
High School and beyond.

May Day Mahalo!!
We would like to send out a very heartfelt Mahalo to all those that
have contributed to the success of our May Day event!
There were many, many people involved, from parents reaching out to
businesses for donations, to community members providing assistance
and donations, families running booths, helping to set up and clean up.
The students were spectacular in their performance and it was a
beautiful day for our celebration! There were a few kupunas that
shared how wonderful it was to see the continuation of traditional
practices.
Thank you so very much as the success of May Day goes right back to
assisting all the children that attend this school.
Moving Up Ceremony
May 31 is the moving up ceremony for the 5th grade
students. The ceremony will begin at 8:30 am with the
Awards ceremony to begin at 9:45am. Ms. Fryar will be
sending home specific information for her class.
Make Your Voice Heard!
Here at Honaunau Elementary we are always reminding
the students that they have a voice and to encourage
and foster that mindset. As parents we are our
children's primary role model and need to ensure we use
our voice as well.
If you are not registered to Vote, we along with the
Lions Club of Kona will make computer access
available for you to register to vote! A flyer is being
sent home today with the information. Please call the
school if you have any questions.
SKEA Magic Camp
SKEA will be hosting a camp for students ages 7-18. Please
look for this flyer in the Tuesday Envelope
