The stance and argument are clear.
Claim The Claim is clearly stated.
There is an explanation of what the claim
means in relation to the Prescribed Title and
relates to a Knowledge Question linked to the
Prescribed Title even if the Knowledge
Question is not explicitly stated.
There is context given in relation to a subject
area (Area of Knowledge/Shared Knowledge).

Evidence Evidence supports and justifies the claim.


The evidence is original and demonstrates
wider reading.
The evidence can be validated and is
academic in nature.
Clearly justifies and enlightens the Prescribed
Title.
The evidence is clearly about the production of
knowledge and methodology in an Area of
Knowledge (Knowledge Framework).
Ways of Knowing are effectively utilised within
the production of knowledge and methodology
and not posed as ‘answers’.
Analysis and reflection of the evidence is

logically within in the essay where it has most
impact. This may be either linked to the claim,
counterclaim or different perspective.
