CLIMATE JEOPARDY

Objectives:
 Show your understanding that Earth’s atmosphere and oceans distribute energy
from the sun, which results in different climates.
 To understand the importance of working as a team and exemplify mutual respect
 Enhance participation skills while practicing teamwork
 Apply concepts learned about Climatology and apply it into a fun and expressive
game setting

Rules:
 There will be 9 groups of 3
 Textbooks and notebooks are not allowed during Jeopardy. Your desks must be
cleared in order to start the game
 If your team has control of the game board you must pick a category and point
value
 When you and your team “buzz” in to answer, you must answer in the form of a
question such as:
“What is…”
Example: Q: This part of the water cycle forms clouds A: What is
condensation
 The dollar amount is the point value added to your game score. If you respond
correctly, or subtract from your game score if you respond incorrectly
o If your team answers correctly, you retain control of the board
o If your team answers incorrectly, another team may steal
 If the back-up team answers correctly, they receive the points and
gains control of the board
 Final Jeopardy:
o Your team must have a score greater than 0 to play
o Your team must make a minimum wager ($1) or the maximum wager
(current game score)
o Teams have 1 minute 30 seconds to respond
o Teams must write the answer on their white board
