Dear Mr. Jones

I am writing to voice my interest in your open position for Operations Director of the Children’s
Museum. I currently work for the Imagine U museum as an Event Coordinator and would like to
continue my career there. My experience and skill sets from working for a few years at the museum
bring me to believe that I would be right for the position. I understand the core values and goals for the
future of the museum from working there over time.

Over the last three years I have made my way up from museum guide to cashier to floor supervisor to
now Event Coordinator; in doing so I have made special trusting bonds with the other workers and feel
as if I could attribute to the cause more in the position of a higher stature. At one point in time I was
coordinator of several different science camps all the while supervising the floor staff. My ideas and
attention to the most minimal details are why I would make this position my passion.

I look forward to discussing these experiences with you in person one day. I hope you will see the skills
and knowledge I have acquired from my short time at the museum and will be willing to consider myself
