We are proud to announce that Hannah Riffell, a senior at Elk Rapids High School, was
recently awarded the 2018 National Writers Series Bob and Marcy Bransky Poetry Award.
Your school also deserves congratulations, as Hannah’s award reflects your fine instruction.

This writing competition is held annually in partnership with the National Writers Series and
the Grand Traverse Regional Foundation; we have awarded $45,000 in total scholarships to
date!

We have enclosed the 2018 NWS Literary Journal—a gift to the school’s library. I hope you can
share news of this award with Hannah’s classmates as it’s a high honor indeed. The three
scholarship winners were selected from a total of 49 applicants.
