ABSTRACT: Deep foundations are the solution for soils foundations with low load capacity; there are different materials
for construction and material selection depends on structural loads and kind of work. Over time, the study on soils, in
particular for foundations have had big evolution that helps us in the task to propose a material and verify the efficiency
of new building methods; one of these methods is the pile building based on gravel columns. In the present investigation
a study was carried to analyze the efficiency of piles buildings on the layers of high compact soft clay and medium
compact sand. The piles were subjected to different loads and the deformation over the time was monitored. An
experimental scale model was carried out in this research. The results showed a better efficiency in the soils with hard
consistency than in soils with soft consistency where the deformations in the sand layer was notable. The curves of
stress-deflection presented a quickly deflection into the first 15 minutes and subsequently the curve was uniform. This
experiment concludes the feasibility suggested of this kind of system for Foundation System.
