Once the documents are ready for pickup, applicants 18 years or older must bring an official
form of identification to the selected DHL Service Point location within 30 days to retrieve the
documents. Applicants can also present the Shipment Waybill (SWB) Number in addition to
their official identification.

Itinerary, Names and ID numbers of the travelers and copy of person collecting shipments on an
official company letter head (for Travel agents only)
If the applicant cannot present any of the above mentioned forms of identification, he/she will be
asked for an original birth certificate for the DHL personnel to make a copy and attach it to the Proof
of Delivery file. The DHL agent will also review the information from the visaed passport or laser
visa to make sure that the document is being handed to the applicant in question.
Parents must prove their identity with one of the above mentioned IDs as well as the copy of the
child’s Birth Certificate or if applicable Adoption Certificate.
3rd party individuals requested to collect another person’s documents are to present a clear copy of
the owner’s photo identification document
For disabled applicants (age, illiterate or handicapped), their children or any third person may
present a signed letter authorizing collection of the visa package as described in 2 above) and copies
of their official identifications. The power of attorney may be signed by the applicant with an "x" or
fingerprint if he or she cannot sign a name.
As the time it takes to adjudicate an applicant's case is at the sole discretion of the Consular Section,
we cannot provide you with any information regarding when your personal documents will be
turned over to DHL.

List of Documents
The following documents are required of all visa applicants:
All nonimmigrant visa applicants (regardless of age) are required to submit the DS-160 Non-
Immigrant Visa Electronic Application. Form DS-160 must be completed online. At the time of the
interview, applicants must submit the printed confirmation page with the bar code. To complete the
DS-160, please visit https://ceac.state.gov/genniv.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Changes to the DS-160 can only be made BEFORE you electronically sign and
submit it. Please make sure that all the information you provided on your DS-160 form is correct
BEFORE you hit the Sign and Submit button. To make changes in your incomplete application, you
may utilize the Retrieve Incomplete Application option. Using this option, you can retrieve
applications that were initiated no later than 30 days ago. Alternatively, you can use the Save option
to save the application on your computer or portable data storage device. In the latter case, the
CEAC system will create a *.DAT file, which you can open later to continue your application.
A passport valid for travel to the United States and valid for at least 6 months beyond the applicant's
intended period of stay in the United States unless country specific agreements provide exceptions.

one person is included in the passport, each person desiring a visa must make an application.
For Croatian passport holders, U.S. law requires only that the passport be valid for the duration of
the planned trip to the United States.
Applicants must be prepared to explain to the consular officer in their interview:
The purpose of the trip, how long they intend to remain in the United States, and how they will cover
the costs of the trip. Officers will generally seek information about the applicant's binding obligations
- such as family ties or employment - that would compel them to return home after their trip to the
United States. Although the officer might not request documentation, applicants may bring relevant
paperwork to provide if requested.
In addition to the documents listed above, applicants must also bring:
All previous passports, especially those that show any international trips or previously issued visas to
the United States at the interview.
One 5 x 5 cm (or 2” x 2”) color photo taken within the last 6 months. The photograph must meet the

following requirements: face must be facing the camera, white background, ears exposed, glasses
cannot cause a glare or be shaded dark, heading coverings are not permitted (unless worn for
religious reasons). Please click here to for photo guidelines.
Optionally, applicants may bring documents to support their reason for travel and to establish their
professional, financial, and familial ties to their home country, such as verification of student status
or employment, evidence of their financial resources, property ownership documents, etc.
Applicants Under 18 must also bring:
Birth Certificate
Notarized Permission ("Suglasnost") of parents of children under 18 when parent not present at
interview
Third Country Nationals (TCN):
We strongly encourage TCNs who are not resident in Croatia to apply in their home country. If
applying in Croatia, TCNs will need to provide the same documents as above and proof of legal
residence in Croatia.
Every traveler to the United States, regardless of age, requires a visa to enter the United States if they
do not qualify for the Visa Waiver Program or otherwise qualify to travel without a visa.

If you will be traveling with a group of people that are not your family members and would like to
schedule an appointment together, click on the Group Processing option on the menu at the bottom
of the screen (Groups consist of musicians performing together or athletes traveling together as a
group to a sporting event with the same travel itinerary. To schedule a group appointment, you will
need the names of all the members of your group.)

How to Apply:

Step One

Before proceeding any further, please ensure you have completed the following actions:
Completed the Nonimmigrant Visa Electronic Application, DS-160 confirmation (barcode) number
for each applicant. The application can be completed at https://ceac.state.gov/genniv.
Please note that in order to schedule an appointment you will need to complete the payment of the
visa application (MRV) fee. Y ou will need to continue through the registration of this site to pay the
MRV fee. If you choose to pay the fee by cash you will need to print the MRV fee payment slip.
Please see Fee Payment Options for additional information.
Additionally, please ensure you have the passport number of each applicant available.

Step Two

Follow the flow of this website to schedule an appointment at the Consular Section. During this
process, you will be asked to also select a courier option, which will allow your passport to be
returned to you following the interview.

Note: Applicants younger than 14 and older than 80 may not have to appear in person
at the Consular Section under certain conditions. Please see the Personal Appearance
Waiver page for complete information.

Step Three

Attend the scheduled appointment to complete the interview and to submit all visa application
documents.

Step Four

Following the appointment and processing, your passport will be returned to you via the courier
option you select on this site.

Minors under 18, the elderly, and the disabled may be accompanied by a caregiver. Other persons
who do not have appointments are not permitted, including Americans in support of visa applicants.

No electronic devices of any kind are allowed inside the U.S. Embassy, including cell phones,
cameras, recording devices, electronics, computers, large bags or luggage. Applicants may not bring
weapons, liquids, food, or objects under pressure (such as hairspray or deodorant). All applicants will
go through a security screening prior to entry.

Note about transportation:

There is a small parking lot located outside the main gate that can be used by visa applicants.
Additionally, ZET bus #268 runs from the Glavni Kolodvor and has a stop near the Embassy.
