LESSON PLAN IN AQUACULTURE NCII

Learning Area : AQUACULTURE NC II
Quarter : 2nd

Content Standard: The learner demonstrates understanding on the underlying concepts and
principles in stocking of fingerlings and stock sampling.
Performance Standard: The learner independently performs proper stocking of fingerlings and
stock sampling based on industry standards.

I. Objectives:
 Identify culturable aquatic species.
 Present the identified culturable specie on the given sample pictures.
 Appreciate the importance in identifying culturable aquatic species in
Aquaculture.

II. Subject Matter

Materials: Chalk, Printed Pictures, Cut-out pictures, Masking Tape, Meta-cards, CGs,

Duration: 2 hrs

III. Procedure

Preliminaries
 Greetings
 Pray
 Checking of Attendance
 Review (recall the concept of the past lesson)
 Checking of the assignment.
 Motivation
-The teacher will Group the class into four. Then ask them to write
aquatic species they know that can be cultured. Each group will be
given two (2) minutes to write their answers on the meta-cards being
provided. Afterwards, an assigned member will post it on the board
and read their answers.

A. Activity -
“Quiz Bowl Game”
On the same groupings, the teacher will show pictures of aquatic species. They
will be given 10 seconds for each picture to identify and write the answer on the
meta-cards. Afterwards, the teacher will reveal the name of each specie being
shown. The group that got most of the correct answer wins the game.

A. Analysis –
 Based on the activity, can you identify aquatic species?
 Which of the following aquatic species can be cultured?

B. Abstraction
The teacher will sum-up the answers and discuss the importance in identifying
culturable aquatic species in Aquaculture.

C. Application
 Each group will solve the puzzle culturable species in 5 minutes.
 Post the solved puzzle on the board and do a simple presentation about
it for 1 minute.
 Present the culturable aquatic specie on the puzzle through a “Knock-
knock! Who’s there?!” presentation in 3 minutes.

 The teacher will present and discuss the rubrics.

IV. Assessment

-Individually, in a ¼ sheet of paper, name five (5) culturable species in their local and
English/Common name that discussed from the lesson. They will be given 2 minutes to write.

V. Assignment

-The students will make pairs or a group of 2 or 3 members. The teacher will provide a
draw lots paper with aquatic species written on it. The pairs will pick one and they will look for
the complete taxonomic classification and the ecological behavior/characteristics of their
picked species to be presented in the next meeting activity. The rubrics of this will be presented
before their presentation next meeting.
