 Nutshell media provides large adsorption area to capture oil. Media also
exhibits good solids retaining capacity which is also improved by the
presence of oil.
 Deep Bed design reduces backwash frequency
 Influent stream used for backwash, therefore not storage tank required and
no external source required.
 Reduced Backwash water requirements
 Nutshells are recirculated through the scrubber assembly to strip off the oil.
 Influent Oil Concentration: 50 ppm nominal maximum
 Backwash cycle regenerates media without requiring air scouring
 Outlet Oil Concentration: <10 ppm
