started building the barbed wire and
concrete “Antifascistischer Schutzwall”
on August 13, 1961 between the West and
East Berlin (history.com staff, n.d.). This
construction is well known as the “Berlin
Wall.” The purpose of building this is to
prevent the West fascists from entering
East Germany and destroying socialist
state, but the main intention is to stop
the moving of people from East to West.

       Natural disasters are happening
everyday. It can cause from little or no
damage to severe one. Some examples
are earthquake, flooding, landsliding,
volcanic eruption, Tsunami, etc. Some
countries such as Japan and Chile are
located in between large cracks in
between the Earth’s tectonic plates.
This results in a more possibility of
encountering those disaster especially
with the earthquake. Thailand, on the
other hand, is lucky that there are not
much chance of having these hazards.
However, there was a typhoon in the
south of Thailand which caused many
injuries and deaths in 1989.
         Typhoon Gay, also known as Kavali
Cyclone was formed close to the Gulf of
Thailand. It caused 833 deaths and 11.7
billion Baht of damage around the area,
particularly in Chumphon Province. It was
said to be the worst typhoon to hit the
Malay Peninsula in the previous 35 years
(STAFF WRITER, 2016). Gay storm was very
small in size compared to the total damage
it did to the wide range of area
(Garfield, 2017). It executed many
people before making landfall in India.
