The Chairman then reviewed progress about the various Union Committee
Chairs. One of the highlights was the announcement that NSID Chief CID Member Fundraiser Page 4
Steward Mark Dega will be the Chair of the Veteran’s Committee. Mark
outlined his agenda to ensure that our members with military backgrounds

are being treated fairly under USERRA and any other needs are met by the

The Chairman also explained to the Council that the Union and DC
Government are currently in active bargaining for the contract, and that the
city has provided the Union with a proposal concerning compensation and
our working conditions. As most of you are aware, the Chairman and the
contract negotiations team are under strict confidentiality rules and he
could not provide more details at the time of the meeting.
