• Developed the foundation of a new internal tool meant to improve and streamline the desktop validation
process for Simulink control models
o Enabled design engineers to test models immediately instead of waiting a day or longer
o Prioritized creation of a “smart” tool to minimize user input
• Designed tests and created test documents to run in the newly developed tool for the locomotive’s
battery control model, and that could also be used in other testing environments
• Executed validation and regression tests in the simulator lab and on test locomotives for new traction
software
• Demonstrated new traction software for controls engineering managers prior to customer release
Power Electronics Engineering Co-op May 2016 – August 2016
• Advanced a high-visibility cost-out project from the component acquisition stage through GE’s approval
process to conditional approval for field testing
o Coordinated fit-ups, subsystem testing, and locomotive track testing
o Summarized supplier EMI results and reviewed test results
o Validated hardware design and construction
o Created test plans and supporting documentation for installation
• Tracked new components through the locomotive assembly process (from module assembly to subsystem
assembly to completed locomotive) in preparation for field testing and validation

• Supported the GEVO Tier 4 diesel engine during the first year of locomotive production
o Gathered and organized engine test data for trending
o Managed specific part validation and test documentation activities
