III. Solid- Matter that holds its own shape and always takes up the same amount of space.

i. Dense
ii. Hard
iii. Tightly packed molecules
iv. Is its own shape
b. Examples
i. Chocolate

iv. Chair
c. Some solids turn into liquid when heated.
IV. Liquid- Matter that flows freely and takes the shape of its container.
a. Characteristics
i. Definite volume
ii. Molecules move and slide over each other
iii. Has no defined shape
b. Examples
i. Oil
ii. Milk
iii. Vinegar
iv. Water
v. Paint
c. Can turn into a solid when cooled
d. Can turn into a gas when heated
V. Gas- Matter that cannot be seen but is all around.

i. Has no definite volume
ii. Takes shape of container
iii. Random movement
iv. Free moving
b. Examples-
i. Carbon Dioxide
ii. Water Vapor
iii. Oxygen
c. Gas forms when liquids are warmed
