Lesson4 Reflective Summary

Teacher Candidate for Science Endorsement: Reginald Tahet

Instructor: Reginald Tahet

School: Sawyer Road Grade: _5th

Lesson Topic: Light up the Night

This lesson was taught in a span of 2 days. I also had to push it back because of
tropical storm Irma. This stem activity was an incredible real-world connection. Light up
the Night, the student were able to make the connection with their storm experiences.
The task was somewhat difficult for some of the students but the groups were able to
collaborate and figure it out as a team. Our science teacher was the lead teacher for this
project. She was able to go through the scientific concepts and processes with the
students. We walked around and answered any questions and helped however we could.

The students were excited to build lights for a city. All materials were given to
each group along with directions. As each group went to work, the students had to
design and assign every member with a designated job. They had to recall all the
information that was taught. To say this task was easy would be an understatement. To
better improve this activity, next time we will need 3 days to truly a create and perfect a
model to display.
