Upper Dash Panel Removal

With pry tool genially move fascia near drivers


right vent forward slightly.

Ease the upper dash trim upwards out of the 4-


Lugs
locating lugs.

The Instrument Cluster is hinged move forward to


facilitate ease of aerial wiring.

Power/Diagnostics
Power Location: The vehicle fuse box is located on the
driver side lower left hand dash. The fuse box is accessed
by removing the fascia panel.
+12v Constant
Power Wires: All power wires must be tested with a DMM
prior to connection of Trimble power harness.
+12v Constant: The permanent source is connected into
the 3rd
position on the 2nd row of the fuse box using add-a- Ground
line fuse tap and a 3A fuse.
Ignition Sense: The ignition sense is connected into the Ignition Sense

7thposition on the 2nd row of fuse box using add-a-line fuse


tap and a 3A fuse.
Advisory: Add-a-line fuse taps can only replace fuses
between 3A and 20A.
NB: Fuse boxes may vary across different vehicle builds,
always check to ensure that the supply is correct.
Ground

 Place a loose knot in the wire for permanent. Apply


tamper sealant. Secure the fuse holder cables to the
vehicle wiring with a cable ties.
Ground: Utilise a self tapping screw and ring terminal
attached to the frame.

Power/Diagnostics

Diagnostic Port Location: The EOBD plug is


located within the driver’s fuse-box. The fuse box is
accessed by removing the fascia panel.

The Trimble EOBD locates into the original EOBD


aperture. The EOBD cable used is a Ford. Therefore
it will be necessary to secure the cable with two
self tapping screws as show in bottom right
picture.

Secure the original EOBD plug to the Trimble Y


cable using a cable tie as show in bottom right
picture.

Advisories: Secure the EOBD/Y lead connection


to the vehicle along it’s route to prevent the Screws
possibility of interference with vehicle controls.

Aerial Locations

GPS Aerial Location: The GPS aerial is affixed


to the plastic inner dash frame to the rear of
the driver’s instrument cluster. Remove the GPRS & GPS Aerials

instrument cluster to gain access.

Please ensure that the mounting location is


thoroughly cleaned in order for the adhesive pad
to mount securely.Provide additional security
with cable tie.

Wireless Aerial Location: The wireless aerial


is affixed to the plastic inner dash frame to the
rear of the driver’s instrument cluster, as shown
at right.

Please ensure that the mounting location is


thoroughly cleaned in order for the adhesive pad
to mount securely. Provide additional security GPRS & GPS Aerials

with cable tie.

Loom the antenna cables together and cable tie


along their route to the TVG.

TVG-660 Location

TVG-660 Location: The TVG-660 is


mounted on the underside of the dash in TVG

the fuse box area, as shown at bottom


right.

Location access : The fuse box is


accessed by removing the plastic trim.

Securing the TVG-660: Utilizing one ¾”


metal-self tapping screw and a wire tie
secure the TVG-660 to the metal support
brace.

Advisories: Ensure that the cable ties


route between the cables to prevent
slippage.

TDI Location

TDI Location: Secure the TDI bracket to


the windscreen with the adhesive pad
supplied.

Ensure that the TDI rests actually onto the


dash.

Note the location in relation to the pillar


trim.

The driver’s A pillar trim will have to be


removed to facilitate the cable routing.
