Maximum performance in a medium sized machine
Welger round balers are worldwide fa-
mous because of their efficiency and re-
liability. These new round balers with a
variable bale chamber in a universal bale
format set new standards for Welger also.
The RP 405 and RP 435 with their bale
diameter of 0.90 to 1.60 m are similarly
and exceptionally interesting for deman-
ding farmers as well as for contractors,
because these balers can be used almost
everywhere, where round bales are as-
ked.
Welger has laced a package with the
provided types and equipment possibili-
ties, with which every customer can rea-
lize his ideas in baling straw, hay or sila-
ge successfully.

As on all round balers from Welger,
the RP 405 and RP 435 are also fitted
with a mechanical tailgate locking de-
vice. This keeps the bale chamber secu-
rely closed.
Welger baling technology –
the guarantee for your success
Highest outputs achieve the best profi-
tability! With the unique HYDROFLEX
CONTROL feed channel floor and a
virtually limitless input capacity of the
round baling chamber, this machine
achieves output performances that were
previously thought to be impossible.
On the majority of standard round ba-
lers, the bale density reduces with the
increasing diameter of the bale. Not so
with the new WELGER round balers.
Due to their intelligent belt tensioning
system CPS, they are able to achieve
the highest bale densities even under
the most difficult conditions. During the
start up phase of bale formation, the
belts are controlled by a mechanical
tensioning system.
Only when the well proven high density
achieved by Welger balers is achieved
and the bale is cleanly tied, the locking
device is disengaged and the tailgate
lifted.
This is the main reason for highest bale
weights and uniform bale size well
known from Welger balers.

A 2.00 m wide pick-up and a rotating
feed rotor behind, helps this model to
achieve a surprisingly high output.
Everything is driven
by the well-proven
POWERSPLIT gearbox.
Monitoring of the most important func-
tions by the BALER- CONTROL E is simple
and easy to operate from the tractor.
RP 435
The 2.25 m wide pick-up swallows up the
widest swathes with an almost unlimited
appetite.
The subsequent circular tine rotor ensures
a trouble-free flow of material into the ba-
le chamber. If required, the Welger
RP 435 can be fitted with HYDROFLEX-
CONTROL feed channel floor and MA-
STERCUT crop chopping system.

extremely easy monitoring and
operation of the individual
functions from the tractor seat.

BALERCONTROL E and E-LINK
IIt is essential that operating a baler
must be easy to understand, clear and
simple.
The HYDROFLEXCONTROL which boosts
performance is fitted as standard on this
machine. In addition to the 12 blade crop
chopping MASTERCUT, the 23 blade
short chopping PROFICUT is also availa-
ble as optional equipment. With this, both
the structure of the fodder can be consi-
derably improved, whilst the bale density
can also be increased even more.
With the BALERCONTROL E for the
RP 405 SPECIAL and the RP 435,
the most important functions are
very simply controlled.
The E-LINK, which is standard on the
RP 435 MASTER, provides a whole ran-
ge of pre-selection and adjust-
ments. Its graphic display
and the easy to understand
menu ensures that
operating the baler
is as simple as ma-
king a telephone
call.
Of course, this unit is
illuminated, so that it
can also be operated in
the dark.

fast, reliable, economic !
Varionet-Net wrapping
with Easy Load SyStem (ELS)
The net wrapping, VARIONET, which
has been well proven to be extremely
reliable, has again been considerably
improved.
With the „EASY LOAD SYSTEM“ inser-
tion of the net roll could not be any ea-
sier. After being loaded in from the si-
de, the new net roll is simply located to
the back of the storage container, and
then loaded into the operating position
where it is locked in place. This saves
time and effort!
VARIONET –
perfect operation,
child’s play to operate
Varionet places the net evenly and
securely around the well shaped bales,
when using the wide nets even over
the bale edges.
This provides perfect protection from
the effects of the weather and reduces
fodder loss and improving the quality.
VARIOTWIN
The special feature of this twine wrap-
ping system is the variator control. With
this facility, the bales receive extra twi-
ne on the bale edges, even where there
is a wide distance between the twine
in the centre of the bale. In this way,
even dry, difficult to hold crops can

POWERSPLIT – Main drive
with split drive
A reduced power requirement and high
life expectancy is the benefit of this de-
velopment.
As the saying goes „power shared is
power halved”, in a heavy duty gear-
box, the total power requirement is
split between the bale chamber and
pickup / feeder.
Consequently, each transverse drive
only needs to transmit a much reduced
power ratio. Even under the highest
load, the high durability of the housing
guarantees the perfect operation of the
bevel gears and shafts and thus pre-
vents longterm unnecessary wear.
Because a reverse gear is not required
for this unique construction, the feed
rotor can be driven directly without
noticeable losses in efficiency.
Wide angle PTO shaft with
auto reset clutch
When reaching the power limit, the
cam-operated clutch disengages the
drive of the bale chamber.
After the overload is relieved, the clutch
automatically re-engages and work can
continue. The wide angle PTO coupling
joint on the tractor end with its quick
release attachment can be easily and
quickly fitted.
An overrun clutch fitted on the machine
end protects engaging / disengaging
of the drive system.
This heavy duty wide angle PTO shaft
is standard on the RP 435 and the
RP 435 MASTER, and is available
as an optional extra for the RP 405
SPECIAL.

The feeding system for highest output
Wide pick-up
When designing the pick-up for Welger
balers, the main requirement is always
to ensure the cleanest crop pick-up and
no possibility of soil contamination.
Also, of course, the ability to work at
high speeds. Large, fully adjustable sup-
porting wheels on both sides guide the
pick-up accurately over the ground.
A spring relief in the hydraulic lifting
device reduces the contact weight.
Any unevenness in the ground is there-
fore quickly compensated for. The sup-
port of the tine bars in ball-bearings
gives an especially long life and is
virtually wear-free. Special brackets
additionally support the cranked spring
tines. Even the widest swathes are relia-
bly and efficiently compressed into the
chamber width by the large augers on
either side.

MasterCut13
The wide range of newly developed
Welger chopping units starts with the
MasterCut13.
13 extra long blades that project deep
into the ring zone of the rotor ensure
reliable cutting of the crop. This increa-
ses not only the bale density but also
accelerates the fermentation process
and gives the fodder an improved struc-
ture especially for ruminants. In additi-
on, the digest ability of the fodder is
greatly improved.
Rotor feed
Feed rotors in these machines ensure
an excellent flow of material.
The RP 405 SPECIAL is fitted with a star
rotor, that is particularly unsusceptible
to stone damage and gives an even
flow resulting in a very high output.

XtraCut17 –
Increased working time
The best quality silage can be achieved
with the newly developed chopping
unit XtraCut17.
The new system offers many features,
improved material flow and due to lon-
ger knives an improved quality of cut.
XtraCut17 offers even more. As well as
using 17 blades they can be divided
into two groups, Group A with 9 bla-
des and Group B with the remaining
8 blades.

The best silage quality can only be
achieved by fast baling at the optimum
time. The intake can become blocked
very quickly when working at high
speeds. Even where a reversing device
is available, clearing a blockage can
take some time. The output is therefore
lost. With Welger this is all history!
Advantage: increased working time
between re-grinding stops. Naturally,
the blades can be quickly removed and
are also protected against overload.
Not only the number (quantity) of the
cuts is decisive, but also the quality.
With XtraCut17, the blades also project
deep into the ring zone of the rotor
giving a finer cut and leaving no chan-
ce of any of the crop remaining un-cut.
Where there is a slightly larger volume in
the front section of the feeding channel
floor, the HYDROFLEXCONTROL can sim-
ply flex downwards allowing the „lump”
to enter the machine and if this should so-
metimes still be too much, that again with
Welger is no problem. From the tractor
seat, the operator can quickly lower the
feed channel floor hydraulically and the
blockage will be passed into the bale
chamber with minimal loss of crop. Wi-
thin a few seconds work can continue at
full speed. Blade changing or adjustment
of the cutting length can be carried out
quickly due to the good accessibility.

Another outstanding development is
the chopping unit: XtraCut25
With its 25 extra long blades, the cut-
ting quality is considerably improved.
Just like the XtraCut17, this chopping
unit can also be used with the group
control of 25, 13, 12 or 0 blades to
increase working time between sharpe-
ning. The hydraulic protection against
foreign objects, as well as the quick
removal of the knives, are also a matter
of course for this cutting unit.
