How to Connect Body Marker Light Circuits Addendum #1

This addendum replaces the document entitled “3. Marker Lamp Circuit” found in the Electrical /
Electrical Options / How Do I Add section of the Resource CD.

1. Park the vehicle on a level surface. Shut down the engine, set the parking brake, and chock the tires.

2. Disconnect the negative leads from the batteries.

NOTE: The Chassis Module is mounted on a plate mounted to the left-hand frame rail aft of the cab. See
Fig. 1 below.

3. Locate cavity M of connector C4. There will be a wire labeled “46F” at this location. See Fig. 2, Fig.
3, and Fig. 4 on page 2 for location of the C4 connector and cavity M.

4. Pull back the wire loom to expose a sufficient length of wire 46F to allow for splicing. Splice using an
appropriate waterproof method of splicing. The splice should be made within eight inches of the
chassis module. A 7.5 amp inline fuse should be installed on the wire feeding the body marker light
circuit. The maximum allowable load for this circuit is 10 amps. If greater amperage is required, the
body builder will need to use the spliced wire to trigger a relay, with the power source coming from a
fused battery supply.

5. Remove the chocks from the tires.

IMPORTANT: The standard load from the vehicle chassis marker lights, combined with the added load of
the body marker lights, must not exceed 10 amps.
