Doggerland: Deception
Book 1 in the Doggerland series
A major new talent debuts — enter the unique
world of Doggerland
The same morning, a woman is found brutally murdered in her own
kitchen on another part of the island. The news of the murder hits the
small close‐knit community hard. Karen is put in charge of the case, a
case not made easier by the fact that Karen’s boss used to be married to
the vic m. He is also the very same man Karen woke up next to in the
hotel. Karen knows the inves ga on runs a risk of ge ng tangled in the
mul ple personal connec ons.
Karen starts unravelling the leads in the brutal case, threatening to un‐
earth secrets long buried. Perhaps the story began in the islands’
secre ve commune in the 1970s. Perhaps it has its roots in a phone call
in the spring this year. And, maybe there’s some truth to be found in the
whispered conversa ons at the pub, The Hare and Crow.
Try as she might, Karen can find no mo ve for the killing, and she must
dig deep into the islands’ history to find the answers. The layers of
decep on run deep.
