Guidelines for Summer Training Report

1. Each student will make two copies of project report in the recommended format.
2. The students will keep one copy of the project with themselves for their further
reference in future and one copy to be submitted in the department.
3. The Copies of report should be in white background with spiral binding.
4. Each student is required to make a copy of project in CD and submit along with project
report.
5. All the students are required to follow the following instruction.
a. There should not be any deviation from requirement of reproducing the report from
the format prescribed below.

PRESENTATION OF THE REPORT

i. Title/ cover page ( Annexure XII)


ii. Certificate by the Project-Incharge
iii. Acknowledgements
iv. Table of contents (including list of tables and illustrations)
v. Abstract/Executive summary *

(All these above pages are to be numbered in ROMAN LETTERS ONLY)

CHAPTER PLAN

1. Introduction to the subject


a. Theoretical Foundation
b. Any existing studies published on this topic and their findings(Literature
review)

2. Introduction to the organization or the industry in which the project has been
undertaken
a. Overview of the industry(History, Growth, Landmarks, major players and
their market share)
b. Profile of the Organization
c. Company’s History
d. Recent Achievements and milestones
e. Product range of the company / industry
f. Performance of the company over the last few years(Statistical Profile)
g. Financial status of the Organization
h. Future prospects/ plans

3. Objectives of the Study & Research Methodology : Important details related with
sources of data, sample place, sampling technique and methodology to be used,
limitations of the study should be explained.

4. Analysis and Interpretation : Use of appropriate statistical techniques ( Correlation
Analysis, Hypothesis testing ; Z test, t Test, F test, Multivariate Data Analysis
techniques like Factor Analysis, Discriminate Analysis etc.) should be made.

5. Summary, Conclusions & Recommendations.

Appendix (Questionnaire, Glossary of Terms, Abbreviations, Documents, Performas,


Financial statements etc.)

** Bibliography must be presented in the following format:

 Reference to a book:
Mcdonald, P. (2006), Business Management, Pearson Publishers Ltd., New Delhi.

 Reference for an article:


Dolby, K. (1971), “Employees satisfaction towards training ”, The Banker, London,
September, p.995.
 Reference to web page:
http://otn.oracle.com/docs/products/ias

Note:
 All references should be given alphabetically.
 The Literature review should be in chronological order.
 Project report should contain page numbers starting from Introduction Chapter
and should be mentioned in the index.
