‘ConocoPhillips 2012 FEL-0 Projects Project # 3 (PWR - 810/091-11) - Increase Capacity & Reliability of DU-8059/8060, Estimate Basis Project Narative Summary ‘The purpose of this project isto increase the capacity and improve the reliability of the Crude Unit Debutanizer TopsReflux Pumps DU-8059 and DU-8060, These identical pumps operate one ata time and provide both the reflux and tops make fr the Debutanizer operation, Current capacity of each pump is approximately 4100 BPD. However, with rocent improvements in the Primary Tower operation, Crude rate has increased. The Primary Tops make can now outpace the capacity ofthe Crude Unit Debutanizer resulting in the unwanted diversion of some of the Primary Tops tothe Coker Debutanizer at high Crude rates, To completely eliminate this diversion of Primary Tops to the Coker requires a total capacity ofthe Debutanizer Tops/Reflux Pumps of about 7000 BPD. Additionally, these pumps experience poor reliability, are no longer manufactured and are difficult to service. ‘Maximum capacity for the existing pumps at end ofthe performance cuve is $280 BPD with AP of 265 psi (compared to 309 psi at design point capacity of 4100 BPD). To achieve the 7000 BPD capacity will definitly require replacement of the pumps. Replacement will also solve the reliability issue with the existing pumps For FEL-O itis assumed thatthe pumps will be replaced.
