Process Four: Begin Using Your Smart Card

You are now ready to begin using your smart card. Obtain a certificate
from your Certificate Authority (CA) and set up the appropriate browsers
and email applications. For information on these tasks, refer to the
following:

• The Datakey Web site (www.datakey.com) to download integration
and configuration guides relating to your specific platform
(Entrust, Microsoft, Netscape, etc.)

Process Two: Initialize Your Smart Card

After Datakey CIP is installed, your smart card must be initialized using
the CIP Utilities program.

Note: For Model 330u and Model 330i smart cards: To activate the
unblocking codes and/or import the Identity Key, you must use the
Token Personalization Utility.
1. To start CIP Utilities, select Start -> Programs -> Datakey CIP ->
CIP Utilities.
The CIP Utilities window is displayed.

If you are installing on Windows 2000 or Windows XP and want

If you are using a reader that is not listed, uncheck all reader options
and use the reader installation that came with your reader to install and
configure it after CIP is installed.

Note: If you are using Windows 98, only one PC/SC reader can be
installed on the PC. If you are using Windows 2000 or Windows
XP, the operating system will support more than one PC/SC
reader, but only one can be installed at a time. If you are using
Window NT 4.0, you may install more than one PC/SC reader
but problems may occur.
The Start Copying Files window is displayed.

9. Select the CIP Desktop features you wish to install, then click Next.
A description of each feature is displayed when you select the option.
The SmartLogon and SmartNotes CIP Desktop features are available
for selection only if you have purchased the CIP Desktop option.
The Reader Install window is displayed.

11.Click Next to begin copying files to your computer.
