Technology Lesson Plan- 5th Grade
Plan for Independent practice: Each day leading to the presentation day, give students roughly
an hour to continue their PowerPoint slides.
Closure (Reflect Anticipatory Set): I will ask students questions regarding my PowerPoint. For
example: “Can anyone remember where I am from?” and then I will ask them to point me in
the right direction for different tools to see if they can remember where things are at and to
gauge how much they have learned the first day. I will ask if they have any questions or
additional information that can be helpful to their classmates such as features they have
discovered that we may not have discussed.
Assessment Based on Objectives: Their assessment will be at the end of the week when they
present their PowerPoint to the class, to make sure they have grasped the different functions
and tools.
Scenario: You have a student with a special need. Identify the special need and explain how
you will meet the special need in the classroom.
I have a student with Autistic Disorder. He has trouble socializing with other students
and often times, needs things explained and shown to him several times before
comprehending. He does struggle with certain subjects more than others. For instance, he is
quite good at math but when it comes to stringing words together to form sentences and
reading, he needs extra attention. I do my best to give one-on-one time myself, but seeing as I
have 24 other kids in the classroom, I am unable to give him all of my attention all the time. I
have a special needs assistant who comes in each day, during reading and writing, just to help
me out with him. She is an excellent assistant with an amount of patience I have never
witnessed before. She explains to him the lessons I give and walks through with him step by
step to make sure he understands. He also goes to a special needs classroom each day for an
hour and a half to work on writing, reading, and speech.
