Velch where my husband, Larce Hulch, and I live with our 2 children. My husband is a member
As a woman I don’t have a job but since my parents died a few years ago, I inherited their
farm and spend many of much of my time taking care of it. A typical day for me starts with
waking up early in the morning and overseeing the slaves that work in our home. After my
family is done eating breakfast, I head over to the farm I inherited from my parents. While my
husband works, my children are taken care of by our slaves. At the farm, I oversee the farm
workers. I make sure that they are properly harvesting crops and preparing the crops to be sold
in the market. Some days I accompany the workers to the market and oversee the sale of the
crops. It is often difficult to manage male workers because men don’t respect my authority since
I am a woman. After spending the day at the farm, I head home to be with my family.
Some nights my husband and I will go to a feast at the houses of other high ranking
citizens in Velch, such as ourselves. These feasts are the few times that I am able to socialize
with others, because as a woman I don’t have the same freedoms that men have. Although I
typically don’t participate in public life, I am still able to keep the property I inherited for myself.
A constant concern that we face as Etruscans is worrying about the Romans taking over.
They have begun to take control of some of our cities and alter the Etruscan way of life. I
strongly dislike Romans because they are trying to take over my culture. They also have much
stronger restrictions on women’s freedoms and I am worried about what would happen if the
Romans took control of Velch. I would most likely not be allowed to own my farm and I would
lose many of my other freedoms as well. Although I have few freedoms as it is, I would have
