This is the cable for connecting the USB terminal of the
Panasonic digital camera to the A-type USB terminal on
the PC.
≥ Operating instructions

Features
The digital camera and PC are connected using the supplied USB connection cable
and pictures in the SD Memory Card allowing the Multimedia Card can be transferred
to the PC. Moreover, by using the supplied software, the still pictures in the Memory
Card can be edited and processed.

SD Viewer Version 2.0 for DSC (Windows only)


Thumbnail* of the pictures in the Memory Card can be displayed.
In addition, a SlideShow for playback on camera can be created easily.
*Thumbnail means displaying pictures in small size.

ArcSoft Software Suite (Editing and processing software)


ArcSoft PhotoImpression
Editing, processing and printing of still pictures can be done. Pictures can be stored in
albums.
ArcSoft Panorama Maker
It is possible to combine several still pictures to make panoramic photos.
ArcSoft PhotoBase
Software which enables catalogue-making by bundling files together containing still
pictures, etc.

QuickTime (Picture playback software)


To playback motion images recorded with digital camera (motion JPEG format: file
extension.MOV).

≥ When 2 or more USB devices are connected to one PC, or when devices are

Install guide
Installing the USB driver (For Windows)
Be sure to install the driver before connecting the digital camera to the PC. (Only for
Windows 98 and Windows 98SE) Close all software programs (even permanently
resident software) running on Windows.

1 Insert the CD-ROM.


The Set Up menu starts automatically.
≥If the Set Up menu does not start automatically,
double click on the [instmenu.exe] from the CD-
ROM.

2 Click on [USB Driver].

3 Click on [Next].

4 If the [Restarting Windows] dialog box


appears, click on [OK].
After restarting the PC, installation of the driver will
be finished.

≥ If you click on icons other than the USB driver, installation of the respective software
begins.
≥ For details about how to use the supplied software, please refer to the Help for the
respective software.
≥ When starting [SD Viewer for DSC], a message that there is no supported Memory Card
is displayed, confirm whether install of the USB driver has been finished.

When Uninstallation of the driver or software is
necessary (For Windows)
1 Click on [Start] >>> [Control Panel], and select [Add/Remove
Programs].

2 Select the software or the driver which you want to uninstall


procedure.

3 Click on [Add/Remove].
≥Repeat 2-3 if you want to uninstall more driver or software.
<Uninstalling the SD Viewer for DSC, the USB driver>
On clicking [SD Viewer], [USB Driver] on the Set Up menu screen, uninstall procedure
begins automatically.
≥ Depending on the OS, the uninstallation procedure may vary.
For details, please refer to operating instructions of the OS used.
≥ When using a Macintosh PC, it is not necessary to uninstall the driver.

Installing the supplied software (for Macintosh)

2 1 Insert the CD-ROM.


The folder is automatically displayed.

2 Double click on the folder containing the


software to be installed.
[ArcSoft]/[English]:
Select 1 of the 3 software programs and double click to
start installation.
[QuickTime Installer]/[English]:
Installation of QuickTime begins.

≥After carefully reading the displayed contents, please start the installation
according to the instructions.

≥ For details about how to use the supplied software, please refer to the Help menu for the
respective software.
≥ When using a Windows PC, click on the software to be installed from the Set Up menu
(P8).

Connecting PC and Digital Camera
When using Windows 98/Windows 98SE, only connect after installing the driver (P8).

The DMC-FZ1 is used for illustration of Digital camera.

1 Insert the Memory Card in the digital camera, and close the memory
card door.

2 Turn on the digital camera, and set to Playback mode.

3 Connect using the supplied USB connection cable.


≥Camera automatically changes to PC connection mode.
≥When connecting, use the AC adaptor as the digital camera power source. (When
using the battery, the data being transmitted may be damaged if the battery power
consumes)

≥ When the card access indication of the digital camera is lit, please do not disconnect the
USB connection cable. The software may not function correctly and damage the data
being transmitted. Please refer to the digital camera operating instructions.
≥ During connection, if a message is displayed that the file is not found, please see
P49.

Checking that the digital camera is recognized
correctly
[For Windows]

1 Ensure that the [Removable Disk] is


included in [My Computer].
Drive name (H: etc.) varies with the PC being
used.

≥If camera does not operate correctly, please check the


connection again.

[For Macintosh]

1 Ensure that the [untitled] icon is displayed


on the desktop.

≥If camera does not operate correctly, please check the


connection again.

<Folders in the Memory Card>


Still pictures or motion images recorded with the digital camera are saved in the following
folders within the Memory Card.
Names may automatically change as [100_PANA]
([101_PANA], [102_PANA]...)
Saving still pictures (file extension .JPG), motion images
(file extension.MOV) recorded by digital camera
[MISC]
Saving DPOF Set up data (AUTPLAY1.MRK)

Removing the USB connection cable safely
[For Windows]
If the USB connection cable is removed or the power switched off while the PC is working,
an error dialog box may appear. In such cases, click on [OK] to close the dialog box. To
remove the USB connection cable without the error dialog box being displayed, proceed as
follows.

1 1 Double click icon on the task tray.


The Hardware removal dialog box appears.

2 Click on [USB Mass Storage Device], and


2 click on [Stop].

3 Confirm that the [USB Mass Storage


Device] is selected, click on [OK].

4 Click on [OK].
The USB connection cable can be safely removed.

≥Depending on OS Windows 98SE, etc. the icon for safe


removal may not be displayed in the task tray. (There will
be no display depending on the set up of the OS) Make
sure that the card access indication of the digital camera
3 is off, then remove the cable. Please refer to the digital
camera operating instructions.

[For Macintosh]

1 Drop the [untitled] icon which appeared


when you connected the digital camera
with the USB connection cable into the
recycle bin, then disconnect the USB
connection cable.

Starting the SD Viewer for DSC
Before starting, install the SD Viewer for DSC from the Set Up menu (P8).
Before using for the first time, click on [Readme] from [Start] >>> [All Program] >>>
[Panasonic] >>> [SD Viewer for DSC], please read the supplementary explanation or
updated information.

Starting the SD Viewer for DSC


1 Click on [Start] >>> [All Programs] >>>
[Panasonic] >>> [SD Viewer for DSC] >>> [SD
Viewer for DSC]
Or
When the indication of removable disc appears,
click on [List images] >>> [OK].

If the Memory Card has been inserted, the Memory Card


image is displayed.
≥ If the Memory Card has not been inserted, the message [There is no supported
memory card.] is displayed.
On clicking [OK], SD Viewer for DSC starts.
≥ It is also possible to start by double clicking on the shortcut icon on the desktop.
≥ Please do not disconnect the USB connection cable when SD Viewer for DSC is in use.
The software may not function correctly and damage the data being transmitted.
≥ To view the installed operating instructions, Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0 or higher is
required. Please install Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 from the supplied CD-ROM.

Closing the SD Viewer for DSC


1 Click on [File] >>> [Exit].

≥It is also possible to close by clicking on the [x] in


the top right-hand corner of the SD Viewer for
DSC.

1 [Folder Bar]
Folder structure in the Memory Card or hard disk is displayed.
•File explorer and Album are displayed.
2 [Launcher Bar] (P44)
If you register an application, you can start the application by one click. Preview is
registered at the default setting.
3 [View Type Bar] (P44)
It is possible to select the picture type displayed in the picture display section. Pictures
of only the type selected are displayed.
4 [Tool bars] (P43)
By clicking on the respective buttons, it is possible to perform various operations.
5 Picture display section
JPEG, MOV, TIFF, BMP etc. files in the folder are displayed with thumbnail. Other files
are displayed as icons. File data, etc. is also displayed.
•If the number of pictures in a folder is large, it may take time displaying the thumbnails.
•Some files of TIFF or MOV which were recorded by other products than Panasonic
digital cameras may not be displayed with thumbnail.
6 [Status Bar] (P44)
Displays the status of the selected folder.
[Files]: Displays the number of files present in the displayed folder.
[Displayed]: Displays the number of files shown in the picture display section.
[Selections]: Displays the number of files selected.

≥ To display anything other than the picture display section, select Display/Hide from the
[View] menu.
≥ Depending on the PC being used, scrolling in the picture display section with a scrolling
mouse may not be possible.

Changing the display format in
the picture display section

1 Select the display format from [View] >>>


[Image View Type].
[Thumbnail]
File names and thumbnails are displayed.
≥It is also possible to display by clicking on [ ]

in the Tool bar.


[File Data]
Thumbnail and file name, type, file size, creation
date, date last modified, size of the picture, number
of colors used and DPOF setting numbers are
displayed.
≥It is also possible to display by clicking on [ ]

in the Tool bar.


[Camera data]
File name, model name, date/time shot, shutter
speed, aperture value, ISO sensitivity, exposure +/-,
white balance, flash, and simple mode are
displayed.
≥It is also possible to display by clicking on [ ] in
the Tool bar.
[Details]
File name, size, type, date and time last modified,
picture data (picture size, colors etc.) are displayed
in a list.
≥By clicking on the respective tabs, it is possible to
change the order of pictures.
≥By right-clicking on the respective tabs, it is
possible to display details of the selected item.

≥It is also possible to display by clicking on [ ]

in the Tool bar.

display size

1 Select the size for display from [View] >>>


[Image Size].
≥5 types of sizes can be selected.
≥It is also possible to select the display size by
clicking on [ 4 ] in the Tool bar.

Rearrangement of pictures
1 Select the display order from [View] >>>
[Sort].
The display order changes.
≥Selection can be made from [Name], [Size], [Type],
[Modified] etc.
≥Selection cannot be made from the picture data.
≥If [in Descending Order] is checked, the selected
display order is displayed in descending order.

1 Select the type of the file to be displayed
from [View] >>> [Image Format].
Only the selected type of files are displayed.
[ALL] :Displaying all files
[IMAGE] :Displaying all picture formats that can
be displayed as thumbnails in SD
Viewer for DSC
[JPEG] :Displaying JPEG files
(file extension.jpg)
[TIFF] :Displaying TIFF files

≥ It is also possible to select the format of the picture for
display by clicking on the button in the [View Type Bar]
(P44) at the bottom of the screen.

Displaying DPOF informations


1 Select [View] >>> [Display DPOF
information].
When displaying the thumbnails, DPOF informations
are displayed.
≥The number of sheets set to DPOF is displayed.
Click on the number, and use 3/4 buttons to set
the number of sheets.
≥DPOF informations are displayed only when the
JPEG files are recorded by a digital camera to a
Memory Card.
≥[Display DPOF information] can be selected only
when displaying the thumbnails.

Selecting pictures
1 1 Click on the folder containing the picture in
[File explorer] of [Folder Bar].
Files in the folder are displayed.

2 Select the picture by clicking on it.


A blue frame appears around the selected picture.

Select by holding down the [Ctrl] key and clicking on
each desired picture

selection by holding down the [Shift] key and clicking

≥ Files can be selected by dragging a mouse around the
desired file. A white frame appears when dragging a
mouse.

Enlarging still pictures
1 Select the picture, and double click on it.
1 ≥The picture is enlarged as large as the monitor
size, and the operation panel appears on the
bottom-right corner.
≥ When the aspect ratio of the picture differs from
that of the monitor, black areas will appear at the
edge of the screen.

2 Click on [ ( )] on the operation panel


to go forward (backward).
≥By clicking [ ( )], the first (last) picture of
the folder is displayed.

2 3 Click on [ ] on the operational panel to


return to the previous display.

Playing back motion images


Check that Quick Time is already installed.

1 Select [MOV] or [ALL] from [View] >>>


[Image Format].

2 Double click on MOV files (file


extension.mov) to start Quick Time.

3 Click on [ ] to play back motion images.


≥ By clicking thumbnails, thumbnails of motion images
are played back.

Using the Preview
1 Select a still picture, and click on the
1 Preview icon on [Launcher Bar].
≥The Preview screen is displayed.

2 Select the file using [ ].


≥By clicking [ ( )], the next (previous)
2 picture of the folder is displayed.
≥By clicking [ ( )], the first (last) picture of
the folder is displayed.
■Change the picture size
Click on [Tool] >>> [Resize].
≥You can select from 10% to 150%.
■Rotate the picture
Click on [Tool] >>> [Rotate].
≥You can select 90°/180°to the right or 90°to the
left.
■Insert characters to pictures
1 1  Click on [Tool] >>> [Character Input].
2  Drag the mouse to set the area to insert characters.
3  Insert characters.
≥By selecting [Font setting], you can set the font
name, style, size or color.
≥The setting of the font is applied to all the
characters which are being inserted.
≥Characters may not be inserted if the selected
area is too small. We recommend you to set the
sufficient area.
4  Click on a subject other than the area to which
characters inserted, and fix the characters.
2 ≥Once characters are fixed, you cannot change the
characters any more.
≥ When you save the pictures, which were changed by
using the Preview, directly to a Memory Card, the
pictures cannot be played back by a camera. In order to
play back the pictures by a camera, save the pictures to
the hard disc of a PC, and then copy them to a Memory
Card by using SD Viewer for DSC. (P23)

Saving files edited by the
Preview
1 1 Click on [File] >>> [Save As].
≥The saving screen is displayed.

2 Select the place to save files.

3 Insert the file name, and select the file type.

4 Click on [Save].
≥When saved by the JPEG format, picture quality
options appear. Select the picture quality and click
on [OK].
≥When the file saved by the preview is not displayed
on SD Viewer for DSC, click on [View] >>>
[Refresh].
≥When you save the pictures recorded by a digital
2 camera by selecting [Save As], recording
informations etc. will be cancelled.

≥ When you do not fix the inserted characters before


saving the file, the inserted characters will not be
saved. Please fix the inserted characters before saving
the file.
≥ When you save the pictures, which were changed by
using the Preview, directly to a Memory Card, the
pictures cannot be played back by a camera. In order to
3 play back the pictures by a camera, save the pictures to
the hard disc of a PC, and then copy them to a Memory
Card by using SD Viewer for DSC. (P23)

Copying pictures to another
folder
1 1 Select the picture to be copied, and click on
[Edit] >>> [Copy].

2 Select the target folder with the [Folder Bar],


click on the picture display section, and
click on [Edit] >>> [Paste].
≥It is also possible to drag and drop a picture copy
to the target folder with the [Ctrl] key held down.


Copying from the Memory
Card to the PC
1 Click on [Tool] >>> [Copying memory card].
≥You can also copy the memory card data by
clicking [ ] on the tool bar.

2 Select the place to copy.


1 ≥By checking marks on [Automatic sorting by month
of taking] or [Automatic sorting by date of taking],
files are divided to folders according to the
recorded month/date.
≥Files are automatically named as the recorded
date/hour/min./sec. when selecting [Automatic
sorting by month of taking], and the recorded hour/
min./sec. when selecting [Automatic sorting by
date of taking].

3 Click on [OK].
≥Folders/files are named automatically as follows;
Folders of recorded month: 6 figures (for example,
[102002])
Files of recorded month: 8 figures (for example,

2, 3 [30123456])
Folders of recorded date: 8 figures (for example,
[10302002])
Files of recorded date: 6 figures (for example,
[123456])
≥Files recorded by a camera without clock settings
are copied to [000000] or [00000000] folders.
≥Pictures recorded by other cameras than
Panasonic digital cameras may not be divided to
folders properly.

Copying an image to the
Memory Card
1 1 Select the picture to be copied, and drag
and drop into the [xxx_PANA] folder in the
DCIM folder of the Memory Card.
The picture is converted to the JPEG file that can be
played back on the digital camera, and copied.
≥The file name is automatically inserted.

Moving pictures to another


folder
1 Select the image to be shifted and click on
[Edit] >>> [Cut].
1 2 Select the target folder with the [Folder Bar],
click on the picture display section, and
click on [Edit] >>> [Paste].
Once an image is shifted, you cannot return it to its original
location with [Edit] >>> [Undo].
≥ You can also move a picture by holding the [Shift] key
down, then dragging and dropping. (If dragged and
dropped to a different drive, the picture will be copied.)

Deleting a picture
1 1 Select the picture to be deleted, and click on
[Edit] >>> [Delete].
A confirmation message of file deletion is displayed.

2 Click on [Yes].
You cannot retrieve a deleted picture using [Edit]
>>> [Undo].
≥It is also possible to delete by pressing the [Delete]
key.

Changing the picture size
When the picture size is changed, the picture is renamed.

1 Select the picture, and click on [Tool] >>>


[Resize].
■When selecting [Size change with image size
prioritised]
≥You can change the picture size at random or set
the rate of enlargement/reduction.
≥The file size is also changed according to the
change of the picture size.
≥The range of the picture size setting is 1 – 4000.
≥The range of the rate of enlargement/reduction is
10 – 200.
≥ By right-clicking the picture, you can select [Resize] in
the context menu.
■When selecting [Size change with file size prioritised]
≥You can change the file size to [About 50KB],
[About 100KB] or [About 300KB].
≥The picture size is also changed according to the
change of the file size.
≥When checking a mark on [Applies to all files], the
change of the file size is applied to all the selected
pictures.

Making the picture into Wallpaper


1 Right click on the picture which is to be
made into Wallpaper, and click on [Set as
Wallpaper].
The picture will be displayed on the desktop.
≥If the wallpaper is not displayed on the desktop, to
display it click on the desktop and press key [F5].

Making the album
You can register pictures saved in the hardware of the PC

1 to the album.

the album and select [New album].

and click on [Edit] >>> [Copy].
≥You can select one or more pictures.

4 Select the desired album from [Album] in

Adding print informations to the Memory Card
(DPOF Setting)

1 Select the picture for DPOF set up, and


click on [Tool] >>> [DPOF Setting].
≥DPOF can be set only to the pictures of JPEG/
TIFF formats in a Memory Card recorded by a
digital camera.
≥Multiple pictures can be selected for DPOF set
up.

2 After setting up with the [DPOF


Setting] screen, click on [OK].

Uses the [ 3 ], [ 4 ] keys to set the number of sheets to be printed. (You can set 1 to 999
sheets)
•If [Do not print] is selected, you cannot set a number.
•For pictures on a non-compatible Memory Card, DPOF set up is not possible.
•The details of DPOF set up are saved in the Memory Card [MISC] folder as a file with
the name [AUTPRINT.MRK].
•After set up, the DPOF data saved in the Memory Card will be useful with DPOF
compatible printers, etc.
≥ If [Apply All] is clicked, the same set up can be applied to all the selected pictures.

<DPOF is the abbreviation for>


Digital Print Order Format, with which the print information, for use with DPOF-compatible
systems, can be included on pictures in the Memory Card. If files that are not compatible
with DPOF are selected, the DPOF dialog box is not displayed.

Playback SlideShow
1 Pictures that can be used with the SlideShow are of
BMP, JPEG and TIFF formats.

1 Click on [Tool] >>> [SlideShow].


[Read Image Setup] screen is displayed.
≥It is also possible to start the SlideShow by
clicking on [ ] in the Toolbar.

2 Select the pictures to be included in the


SlideShow and click on [OK].
[SlideShow] screen is displayed.

[Slide Image Size]
The size of the picture displayed as a slide is set up.
[Original Image Size]: SlideShow displays the original size of the picture
[SD SlideShow Size]: SlideShow displays with size 640 x 480
[Desktop Size]: SlideShow displays with desktop size
[Background Color Setting]
Click on [ 4 ] to select the SlideShow background color
[Music file]
Select the Wave file (file extension.wav), and set the BGM of the SlideShow.
The Wave file can be played back only with the PCM format.

SD SlideShow
SD SlideShow is a function by which a SlideShow produced by combining JPEG format
pictures saved in the PC or pictures taken with the digital camera to be viewed easily on a
television by using a digital camera (only compatible types).
≥ For details about the method of playback the SD SlideShow, please refer to the digital
camera operating instructions.

Saving the SlideShow


You can only save a set up with JPEG format pictures. Please convert the picture
format to JPEG format. (P27)

1 1 After setting up the SlideShow, click on


[Save] on the [SlideShow] screen.
[Save SlideShow data] screen is displayed.

2 Select the format for saving, and click on


[OK].
≥You can only save one SlideShow set up.
2 <If [Saving onto the card as SD SlideShow] is

≥By using a digital camera that is compatible with the SD
SlideShow function, it is possible to begin to playback of

≥A [SLIDE1] folder is created automatically in the Memory
Card, and a picture that is resized to a 640 x 480 pixels
element suitable for playback on television is saved in the
folder.
≥When the PC is in a status in which it is capable of
writing data to 2 or more Memory Cards (card slot and
digital camera etc.), please select the card for saving.
≥[Background Color Setting] and [Music file] will not be
saved.
≥When you set the SD SlideShow by SD Viewer for DSC
and save it, the previously saved SD SlideShow/normal
SlideShow will be overwritten. However, the SlideShow
set by a digital camera will not be overwritten.

≥ Only the playback time and playback order are saved, and a copy of the picture is not
saved.

Printing pictures
1 Printing the picture
1 Select the picture to be printed and click on
[File] >>> [Print].
≥You can print it from [ ] on the tool bar.

2 Click [ ] to select a printer.


≥You can also carry out the printer setting by
selecting [File] >>> [Print Setup] in the file menu.


3 To change the direction of the image,
click [ ].
≥Each clicking rotates the image by 90° clockwise.
≥The dotted frame in red and black is an area to be
printed.

3 4 If you wish to print the image in


alignment with the paper size, check
[Trimming].
≥If trimming is not applied, the whole image will be
printed. (If the aspect ratio of the paper is different
from that of the image, blank spaces will be left top
4 and bottom or left and right)

5 If you trim the image, drag the image to


adjust the printing area.
≥To fine-adjust, click [ ], [ ], [ ], [ ]
to set the printing position for the image.
≥Click [Center], and the center of the paper and that
5,6 of the image are aligned.

≥The number of copies set in the print setting
screen is printed instead of that set in the DPOF
7 setting.

■To add the date shot
You can print a picture adding the date shot.

1 Click [4] for the date position on the print preview screen to select the
position in which the date is to be superimposed.
• Click [None], and the date is not superimposed.
2 Drag the date section to the position in which the date is to be printed.
•Right-click the date section and select [Change of color], and the color for the date
section can be changed. (Click any color on the color setting screen to be displayed
and click [OK].)
•The date is superimposed in the order of setting of [Regional Options] in [Control
panel].
•The date display of a digital camera is not superimposed to pictures but saved in files
as data. Therefore, the printed date display may be different from the date display of the
camera.
•If you set the date position at the edge of the printing area, the date may be cut when
using some kinds of printers.
•The date may not be printed properly if pictures are recorded by the digital camera
without date settings or recorded by other products than the Panasonic digital camera.

The thumbnail size is automatically adjusted so that all pictures are printed on the
paper selected.

[Close]: Closes the Index-print preview screen.

Printing the picture easily
(Simple print)
1 You can print the pictures recorded in simple mode of the
digital camera. The printing size is automatically adjusted
to the size which was selected by digital camera when
recording.

1 Select the picture to be printed and click on


[File] >>> [Simple Print].
You can print a number of pictures on a paper as far
as pictures fit into the paper.
≥You can print it from [ ] on the tool bar.

2 Click [ ] to select a printer.


≥You can also carry out the printer setting by

1 Select the picture to be attached and click
on [Tool] >>> [Attach to mail].
≥The mail application starts and the message box
opens with the picture attached.

≥You can attach a picture to a mail from [ ] on


the tool bar.
≥When the selected picture is JPEG format or the
size of selected picture is more than 1024x768, it
is changed to 1024x768 when attached to a mail.
When the file size is more than 300KB, it is
changed to 300KB when attached to a mail.

■When unable to attach a picture to an e-mail


Please set up the mail application. After finishing SD
Viewer for DSC, carry out following procedures.
1  Start the mail application to be set.
≥If it is the first time to start the application, set the
mail address etc.
2  When the message [Set to the standard application?]
is displayed, select [Yes].
≥The message may not be displayed or the
message may be different according to the
application or the setting of the application. When
the message is not displayed, select the standard
mail application in the application setting.
≥Attaching a picture to a mail may be impossible
according to the application.
≥Please refer to the operating instructions of the
mail application.

Troubleshooting (Q&A)
Q: Memory Card cannot be accessed.
A: Format the Memory Card using the format function of the digital camera. For

Q: A warning message that file is not found appears at the time of

A: Insert the OS CD-ROM in the drive. If you don’t have the OS CD-ROM
because, for example, you are using a PC with the OS pre-installed, please
specify the [cabs] folder using the dialog box which searches for the driver
(C:\Windows\options\cabs etc.). The location of [cabs] may vary with the PC.
Q: Even when connected with the USB connection cable, the PC does not
recognize the digital camera.
A1: Insert the Memory Card to the digital camera, and set to [Playback mode].
A2: Click on [Start] >>>[Control Panel], and double click on the [System]. If
[Unknown device] is displayed in [Device Manager], disconnect the USB
connection cable connecting the digital camera, and install the driver again.

A3: If the digital camera is connected to the PC before installing the driver, the
driver supplied with Windows will be installed and the digital camera may not
be recognized properly.
Q: The window is not displayed even when you click the task bar.
A: Only when using Windows 98SE, the window will not return to the original
size once it is minimized. To return to the original size, select [Restore] after
right-clicking.

Caution for Use
≥ Please do not disconnect the USB connection cable during SD Viewer for DSC is in use.
The software may not function correctly and damage the data being transmitted.
≥ When the card access indication of the digital camera is lit or flashing, please do not
disconnect the USB connection cable. The software may not function correctly and
damage the data being transmitted. Please refer to the digital camera operating
instructions.
≥ When connecting to a PC, use an AC adaptor as the digital camera power source. If the
battery is disconnected during data transmission, there will be the risk of damage to the
data being transmitted.
≥ If you insert a Memory Card which is not for use with the digital camera, it may not be
recognized by the SD Viewer for DSC. In such cases, although it is possible to properly
recognize it by formatting with the digital camera, please be careful since the data saved
in the Memory Card will be deleted.
≥ If the number of pictures in a folder is large, it may take time displaying the thumbnail.
≥ When displaying folders in which several hundred picture files have been saved, or
creating a SlideShow using several hundred picture files, then, depending on the
operating environment, normal thumbnail display may not be possible.
≥ During SlideShow display, the picture display duration may be longer than the set up
time, depending on the picture size displayed.
≥ Since it is not possible to save the [Slide Switch Method], [Repeat], [Slide Image Size],
and [Background Color Setting] set up with the [SlideShow setting] screen, when
reading the previously saved DPOF (SlideShow Setup), setting follows:
[Slide Switch Method]: Automatic Switch by Timer
[Repeat]: OFF
[Background Color Setting]: BLACK
[Slide Image Size]: Original Image size
[Music file]: Untitled
≥ The SlideShow setup file that can work with the SD Viewer for DSC is only the
[AUTPLAY1.MRK].
