Having the business sharp end and governance end at the table together to provide a clear picture of reality (so that the discussion is not skewed too much in describing the Head Office environment) of the security vectors for the ‘whole of the organisation. The emphasis on a particular thread being known, understood and applied at the furthest reach of the realm is what Itis about. Ask questions ~ “How is this policy communicated?”, “How is this policy reviewed?" etc.. http://vaywprotectivesecurity govt inz/assets/Uploads/Protective-Security-Capability- Maturity-Model.pdf Prior to the conduct of the workshop, | would suggest you provide the following: A copy of the CMM for each participant (and have a copy available electronically f you want to display it asa PowerPoint show]. A copy of the 29 core requirements for, each participant Any organisational security policies you might have - so that when the group discusses your current security level, we can provide evidence that the policy covers the aspect being discussed Whatever you need to capture your discussion outcomes (do you prefer fipcharts over electric whiteboard?) which will be minuted by you and presented to the CE with the outcome. The PSR engagement manager assists with translation of statements and trys to guide (if it goes off centre) the discussion, he does not own the discussion, You may wish to have a chair appointed for the group, as the final decision for the assessment of current and projection for future should be seen as binding. The PSR engagement manager Is not in a position to make that decision for your organisation. The decision will be the driver for, and provide the basis of, the security plan. How does that sound?
