SPECIFICATION

Laboratory consumables to be used in the Environmental Sample Laboratory

1. Scope
This Specification describes the requirements for laboratory consumables to be
used in the Environmental Sample Laboratory (hereinafter referred to as the
“Consumables”).
The Consumables are used during the sample preparation of the inspection
samples and quality control measures and method development (e.g. plastic
containers, plastic trays, PFA and PTFE bottles and vials, plastic bags and
boxes, Cryo vials, automatic pipettes, pipette stands, etc.).
For the detailed list and quantities of the required Consumables refer to Annex
1 “List of Consumables” of this document.

2. Applicable Documents
The following documents shall be applicable for this Specification to the extent
specified hereinafter:
• Quality management standard ISO 9000:2000
In the event of conflict between the documents listed above and the content of
this Specification, the content of this Specification shall take precedence to the
extent of the conflict.

3. Requirements
3.1. Functional and Performance Requirements
The Consumables shall meet the following functional and performance
requirements and be delivered in the quantities stated in Annex 1 to this
Specification per each type of commodity, moreover:
3.1.1. The Consumables for sample preparation shall enable the routine
analytical work, such as the sample preparation of the inspection
samples and quality control measures and method development.

3.2. Special Technical Requirements for some of the consumables


In line with quality standards some of the requested Consumables shall meet
the following technical requirements:
3.2.1. The Consumables shall be clean room compatible (minimum ISO Class
8), if applicable;
3.2.2. Where applicable, the Consumables shall not contain metal parts;
3.2.3. Containers used for storing samples and reagents shall be made of PFA
or PTFE (except Cryo vials);

3.2.4. Plastic bags and boxes for storage shall be transparent and shall have
smooth surface allowing easy cleaning; and
3.2.5. The automatic pipettes shall have adjustable volume and shall meet the
requirements stated in the table below.

4. Marking
The Consumables shall have all safety markings in English language.

5. Packing
The Consumables, for the shipment to the IAEA, shall be packed in accordance
with international standards that are applicable for the shipment of this type of
goods.

6. Quality Requirements
6.1. The Consumables shall be manufactured and shipped in accordance with the
ISO 9000 quality assurance system or an equivalent quality assurance system;
6.2. The Contractor shall document the compliance with this quality assurance
system.

7. Deliverable Data Items


The Contractor shall provide all documentations and technical drawings in
English.
