1.1 Overview
The cost of a call can be charged to a specific business account (project), configured by the
system administrator.

2.1 Basic description

Before dialing the number, the user enters the business account/project prefix, followed by the
desired business account/project number.
For more information on how the accounting application operates, see module Internal
accounting - Overview.

2.2 Redial and memory keys

As of R2.1, a business call is recorded on the redial key. It can also be recorded on the
memory key of the set (at any time when hearing the ringing tone or during the conversation).
A system parameter allows or prohibit this feature.

2.3 Accounting
Accounting tickets identify business account calls with the title Business.
If a business account call is forwarded:
- In case of an automatic forwarding (or overflow): only one ticket is generated.
- In case of a manual forwarding: two tickets are generated (one for each set).

2.4 Network operation

This functionality is available on an ABC network, provided that system data (installation data
and length of business account codes) are identical on all nodes. Project account codes are
broadcast on the network and must therefore be the same on all nodes.

3

3.1 Restrictions
The attendant must always dial a business account code number (if the field Business
Pref. With Business No. is set to False, this does not apply to attendants).
The attendant does not need to enter a password to assign a business account number.
An attendant can always transfer a business call to a set and a set can always transfer a
business call to an attendant. After transfer, the call is still identified as a business call on the
accounting ticket.
Call-back on a busy TL trunk is not possible for business accounts:
- if the field No control: Business Account Code is set to True and
- if the field Business. Pref. With Business No. is set to False.

4.1 Configuration
To implement business account management, you must:
- Configure business account management parameters
- Configure a business access class of services
- Determine the number of digits to be used for business account codes
- Declare individual business accounts
- Create a business account code charge prefix
- Grant users the right to charge calls to a business account
- Allow (or prohibit) storing a business account call on the set memory or redial key.

4.2 Feature parameters

1. Select: System > Other. System Param.
2. Review/modify the following attributes
No control: Business Account Code Default value: False. Set to True to disable
business account control. In this case, the number
dialed is not checked (it may not be listed in the
table of business account numbers).
Business Pref. With Business No. Default value: True. The user must enter the
business account number after the business call
charge prefix. If this parameter is set to False, the
user does not enter business account number and
the business account number field is completed
with # characters (same number of characters as
business account number).
Project prefix With Code Default value: False. Set to True, the user must
enter set password before trunk seize.
Transfer all Business Call Types Default value: True. Set to True, all types of
business calls can be transferred and parked. Set
to False, business account calls with no number or
number control cannot be transferred or parked.
This option only concerns set parking and set to
set transfer. It is operational when the No control:
Business Account Code attribute is set to True
and the Pref. With Business No. is set to False
(business account calls with no business/project
code). In all other cases (with business/project
code and checking (control) of this code), the user
has the right to transfer and park calls.
Note:
This attribute must be identical on all network nodes.

           %& 4-1

Chapter 4 %&

Project code in redial key Default value: True. Business account calls are
handled by the redial key except for checked
business/project codes (see the No control:
Business Account Code attribute above).

5.1 Overview
A customer expresses the need for:
1. All users to access local calls free of charge (local calls being calls outside the system but
limited to a given geographical area, as set by the public network access provider)
2. Some users to make private long distance and international calls. These calls are to be
metered and charged to each user individually.
3. Some users to make business long distance and international calls. These calls pertain to
specific business accounts/projects and are to be metered and charged to the
corresponding business account/project.
The system consists of one entity only and telephone sets are accessible to all.
Some 100 direct speed dialing numbers are already configured in the system.
The customer uses the OmniPCX internal metering facilities (for more information on internal
metering, see: module Internal accounting - Overview.

5.2 Granting access to local calls for all

The system administrator must:
- Check which entity and public network class of service is assigned for all users
- Define the authorized dialing for the public network class of service
- Configure barring rules for the entity of all concerned users
