A Word from the Wertz’s Summer

2018

Guatemala
In March we travelled to Word of Life
Guatemala to teach missionaries from eight
different countries about the revised
Olympians program.
These fellow laborers have a heart for lost
souls and are very passionate about ministry!
We were inspired by their excitement to
immediately take what they learned back to
the churches, leaders, and children in their
home countries.

Olympians Writing Team

In April we travelled to Word of Life Florida
to par!cipate in the Olympians Wri!ng
Team. Bonnie wrote four lessons, and Jordan
led a team of other writers. At wri!ng team,
the writers and team leaders teach through
their lessons out loud, improve them, add
elements, and edit them.
The lessons that the wri!ng team puts
together are taught to children around the
world!

Video Project
Last month, at the end of our Na!onal Staff
Bonnie in the video studio,
Conference, Bonnie had the privilege of
recording her sessions.
filming three videos that will be used to train
Olympians leaders, especially in areas where
there is no missionary nearby.
Family Update
Abi is now serving at the Word of Life Lodge for the summer
in the Camp Crew program. She is serving as wait staff in the
dining room. We’re so proud of her stepping out in faith,
raising support, and serving the Lord for the whole summer!
Emma’s soIball season just finished (2nd place in the league!)
and she did great. She played several different posi!ons
(shortstop, ouJield) and even began pitching! She will have
several get-togethers with her teammates throughout the
summer. As soon as she turned 12, she began volunteering in
the nursery at church.
Bella just earned the Gold medal in Olympians for the 5th
year. If she earns it again in 6th grade, she’ll qualify for the
Steadfast Award! She got a new sewing machine for Christ-
mas, and has enjoyed learning that new skill!
Jusce just turned four and is growing up so fast! He loves his
new playset and sandbox in the backyard, hanging out with his
best buddies, and his favorite cartoons!

Support Update
Plateaus can be beau!ful. You can see for miles and miles
around. However, plateaus aren’t something you want if
you’re raising support. We have se>led into a plateau and
need to reach a new level. We have been si?ng between 64
and 66 percent over the last several months and have only
seen one new supporter during that !me.
Word of Life’s new focus around the world is “Every Student, Every Country, Everywhere!!” In order for us to
reach every student in our area, we need to see our support percentage increase. We’d love to share with
