Smart Dual Beam introduces a method of realising higher order sectorisation without the need to increase the number of BCCH frequencies employed. Through using twin-beam antennas, the BCCH frequency is bi-casted through both beams using IDD (Intelligent Downlink Diversity). The transmission of the non-BCCH frequencies is via the beam with the lowest path loss (estimated from the Uplink). Four-way Uplink Diversity (4UD) is employed across both beams. Operator benefits: Furthermore, halving the beam width doubles the antenna gain for both Downlink and Uplink, improving the coverage (particularly in an indoor coverage in urban environment scenario).
2. 4UD without IDD
4UD without IDD introduces the ability to employ 4-way Uplink Diversity (4UD) without Intelligent Downlink Diversity (IDD), thus now enabling a greater range of configuration scenarios
3. Anti Lag Suite (ALS)
This feature introduces a set of RLC / MAC capabilities and mechanisms working to reduce the RTT time, in total achieving a typical reduction of more than 30ms: Benefits: These improvements introduced with the RG40 (GSM 15) release provide a significant reduction in RTT and thus an enhanced End User experience. 4. Uplink min RxLevel based access The SDCCH Drop Rate KPI is improved through filtering out RACH Bursts received in the CCCH that have a lower RxLEV than the defined threshold. The RACH Bust for Emergency Calls or those received in non-CCCH are not filtered:

5. Antenna Hopping Extension:
This feature enables the possibility to employ the Antenna Hopping capability in combination with the DFCA feature. For networks with a narrow spectral allocation, the feature will provide an additional approximate 20% to 30% spectral efficiency gain on top of the gain through DFCA alone. Operator Benefits: (a)Increasing the total system capacity.(b) Furthermore, the network Call Drop Rate KPI will also be improved.
6. Interworking and Network Evolution
(a) Narrow LTE Carrier Bandwidth
6. Transmission and Transport / Single RAN
(a) AoIP Monitoring - RTCP Support
(b) Fast IP Rerouting
7. 3-RAT RF-Sharing 2G-3G & 2G-4G Through this feature capability the Operator is able to employ an RF Sharing 900MHz (GSM and WCDMA) and 1800MHz (GSM and LTE) with only a single GSM System Module:
