Introduction of ProSound 2 Ver.2.1

We are pleased to introduce to you ProSound 2 Ver. 2.1, of which shipment will be
started to overseas markets around Sept. 2009. The serial numbers of ProSound
2 Ver.2.1 will be M01011C and above. We hereby announce the new features and
the upgrade kit for Ver. 2.1 as follows.

【Major Upgrade】
UST-9145, a new transvaginal convex probe with 135-degree scanning angle for
ProSound 2 is connectable.

【Upgrade Kits】
There is no upgrade kit for sale. Please kindly use the free upgrade kit, “Service
Pack”, SP-PS2-S210, which is downloadable from the website of
(https://infoshare.aloka.co.jp/).

【Service Pack】
“Service Pack”, SP-PS2-S210 is to upgrade Ver. 1.0 ~ Ver. 2.0 to Ver. 2.1.
UST-9145 will be connectable by this upgrade. Since there is no description about
UST-9145 on the operation manual and the other relative documents of the existing
version, please prepare the operation manual and the other documents for Ver.2.1
stating “UST-9145” when you deliver the probe.

【UST-9145】

1. Overview
UST-9145 is a transvaginal convex probe which has been newly developed for
ProSound 2. Tissue Harmonic Echo is available with the probe. It is easy to
operate a puncture with the crank-shaped design. The probe head is designed
smaller and the insertion part is slimmer than the current transvaginal probes to
reduce patients’ burden.

The packaged puncture adapter such as “MP-****-SET” is unavailable. You may
order each puncture adapter. The cleaning brush and the storage tray are also
available for your order.

We have not applied the following probes for revalidation of the registration at the
Japanese government, so that the following probes should be deleted from the
specification sheet from version 2.1 onward. However, the following probes are
practically connectable with Prosound 2.
