H 1 (Now called “Ruby's Heart”)
i It is always with a grateful heart and a smile on my face I
vy write to you. To you who have been so faithful all these
‘ months, showing up and enabling us to hand out 20,000+
\" lbs. of food each month; THANK YOU.
It is truly a Community wide effort, with people coming
from many places to serve and to be served. The “Spirit” of togetherness and cooperation (and
fun) that shows itself each time we gather, is a continued witness to the “caring beyond
ourselves” attitude we try to extend. THANK YOU also for being examples of caring.
More smiles, good attitudes, willing hands and feet are needed. Please come back if you have
missed a few months. Or, if you have never tried it, come. We welcome you and really could use
the energy. You know, many hands make the load lighter!
We are a distribution site for Ruby’s the 2" Tuesday of each month at the United Church of
Christ (on 10" and Main street) Sorting and set-up starts at 2:30pm and distribution goes from
4:30-6pm with clean-up 6-7pm. Our next Ruby's Pantry Distribution will be Tuesday, April
10".

ASP News
Our first of 4 ASP workshops was held with all 25 youth and 12 adults attending. The workshop
was led by Sue Fischer, Molly Vold and Patti Matthews. Team building and getting to know you
was the themes for this workshop.
This year's theme for ASP is “Called to Action.” It is an expression of purpose and invitation to
participate in God’s ongoing work in the world. God sends out the call (invitation) and God’s
people are called - the ones invited.
‘At the end of the workshop, Molly shared the question, “What is a hope you have for this trip?”
Participants had to come forward and write down their answer on a flip chart that was entitled -
“Your trip starts here”. At the conclusion of our trip we will see if each “Hope” was
accomplished
Next ASP Workshop - Sunday, April 8" - This workshop will be led by Stephanie Sumner,
Marty Kempf and Allyson Barka. Entitled “Difficult Choices”, it will center on the many factors
that go into choosing which homeowners ASP can best serve and to become increasingly aware
of people’s personal priorities and values.
ASP Potato Pancake Breakfast

At the Cabin in the Pines - Stoddard Park
All you can eat feast of - delicious potato pancakes, light and fluffy wheat pancakes, maple
syrup, tasty breakfast sausages, homemade applesauce, assorted luscious dessert bars and
beverage. All this for only $7 for adults, $5 for ages 5 thru 11 and under 4 Is free.
Tables f
Our ASP youth will be constructing BBQ tables for purchase in May. These tables are made of
treated wood and will last a lifetime on your patio or deck next to your BBQ grill. They will be
for sale for $60 and will be ready for pickup after Sunday, May 20". A BBQ table is on display in
the UCC narthex with order sheets, Tables can also be delivered if needed. Any questions,
please talk to Stephanie Sumner.
ASP pizza sale was a huge success with over 1,100 pizzas being
made. A big thank you to all the congregation members and
community members for purchasing and helping to make all those
§ gooey - cheesy pizzas. All youth that are going on the mission trip
this year worked at the pizza sale either Friday night or Saturday and
some kids worked both. All proceeds from the pizza sale will be
used to help pay for the rental of the 15 passenger vans used to
transport our youth and adults to Kentucky in June for their mission
trip. There are a few supreme pizzas left going for 3 for $20 or $8 a
piece. Talk to Les if you are interested.
Our next TGIF outing will be Sunday, April 15". We will be meeting at OELC at noon and then
go to Eau Claire to take in a family movie at one of the local theaters. Details will be mailed out
to all middle school youth.Lanct ficial
